This week's question...
What’s the saddest book you’ve read recently?
My answer...
I'd have to say Made in the U.S.A. by Billie Letts. This is about two kids who suddenly find themselves orphans and all alone in the world. It's about how these two are trying to fend for themselves and avoid being separated by Social Services. If you'd like to read more about it, checkout my review. This book had me in tears through most of it.

I just finished reading Made in the USA, too. I was scared for those children and I don't think I'll ever think of Las Vegas the same way.
ReplyDeleteIf I had that cat I'd train it as a waiter. Great pic :-)
ReplyDeleteThat does sound sad - maybe a little too sad for me.
ReplyDeleteThis sounds good actually. I read a book called 'The Runaways' when I was a kid which sounds similar. That cat looks like mine!
ReplyDeleteI really enjoyed Made in the U.S.A.
ReplyDeleteIt was sad, but I felt satisfied (for lack of a better word) with the ending.
I will check it out.

That does sound sad. The book I am reading right now is pretty sad. It's a memoir about a woman who is from Darfur. She was forced out of her country and suffered much loss as a result of the genocide and war there.
ReplyDeleteLooking over the stacks of recently read books on my desk, there's not a tear jerker in there. I guess I haven't been a chipper chipmunk lately so I've avoided the weepers.
ReplyDeleteI hope it has a some what happy ending!
ReplyDeleteI have not read this one. I enjoy reading sad or emotional books, especially when the ending is satisfying. I actually love it when an author brings out my emotions - to me that's the sign of a well written book.
ReplyDeleteI never read this one, but others have told me it was sad. I like books that cause emotional reactions!
ReplyDeleteI have that one on my shelf. I dont mind a sad story once in a while.
