Every Tuesday Vicki at I'd Rather Be At the Beach hosts First Chapter First Paragraph Tuesday Intros, where we share the first paragraph or (a few) of a book we are reading or thinking about reading soon. Care to join us?
* Grab your current read
* Open to a random page
* Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page
* BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)
* Share the title & author, too, so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers!
This week I'm reading...
First Chapter...
It was six-thirty at night and Elizabeth Adams was still at her desk. The newsroom was comparatively quiet - the usual cacophony of clattering typewriter keys absent for the time being.
Teaser...
How was she ever going to explain to her friends that her daughter was not only working - she said the word as if it left a foul taste in her mouth - but working for some ghastly newspaper.
What do you think? Would you keep reading?
It sounds interesting. I'd be curious read more. My Teaser
ReplyDeleteIt certainly sets the scene well. I do like the cover, too!

DeleteHave a great week, Yvonne!
I like the combination of the first paragraph and the teaser. I think this would be fun to read.
ReplyDeleteI did keep reading. I enjoyed this historical mystery. This week I have a science fiction/alternate history story - Her Majesty's American by Steve White. Happy reading!
ReplyDeleteFun cover art; I think this might be a good read; thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteActually, the cover is puling me in.
ReplyDeleteI have a ton of Peg Cochran's books but this is a new one to me. It sounds really good!
