Book Beginnings on Fridays/The Friday 56 - April 23rd

This is a fun meme to do hosted by Freda's Voice. If you'd like to join on the fun go to The Friday 56.

*Grab a book, any book.
*Turn to page 56 or 56% in your eReader.
*Find any sentence that grabs you.
*Post it.
*Link it here.

It's that simple.

I'm also joining in Book Beginnings on Friday. It's hosted by Rose City Reader

I'm hoping to read this soon.  Looks like a nice beach read series.

First Chapter

Roberta Pierce opened her eyes, yawned and stretched.  The comforting view of her seascape decorated bedroom did not help soothe her when she reached out one arm to Charlie's side of the bed.  It was empty, of course.

From 56% on my Kindle...

Maxine didn't seem to know what to say.  She just sat there staring at the wall before her gaze wondered around.

What do you think?  What are you sharing today?

  1. I hope this is a good one. :)

  2. Hi Yvonne!! I love the cover and the opening line does make me want to know more.

I finally managed to do a Friday post again! So sorry I've been absent all these weeks. Fridays I'm just so damn tired and just feel like vegging and reading my book. None of that any more!

Enjoy your weekend and I hope you enjoy your book(s).

    Lots of Love,

    Elza Reads

  3. Great opening lines, and I love the cover, too! I am a fan of lighthouses, so I definitely want to know more.

    Here's mine: “HER THREE LIVES”

  4. What a beautiful cover! And I feel a bit of kinship to the author as we share the same last name (my maiden name).

  5. Sounds interesting, I want to know where Charlie is now.

  6. LIke that cover and those snippets! Happy weekend!

  7. Beautiful cover! Sounds like a good series starter!

  8. Not many novels have a protagonist with my name, so I am intrigued already. Hope you have a nice weekend.

  9. Pretty cover! And I like the opening too! Hope you enjoy it!

Thank you for stopping by and visiting my blog! I always love reading comments and getting to know my readers!

After some careful consideration, I've decided to become an award-free blog. Although I appreciate and am honored by each and every award I've received, your comments and friendship are enough award for me. Thank you all so much for your thoughtfulness.
