First Chapter

Roberta Pierce opened her eyes, yawned and stretched.  The comforting view of her seascape decorated bedroom did not help soothe her when she reached out one arm to Charlie's side of the bed.  It was empty, of course.

From 56% on my Kindle...

Maxine didn't seem to know what to say.  She just sat there staring at the wall before her gaze wondered around.

    Hi Yvonne!! I love the cover and the opening line does make me want to know more.

    I finally managed to do a Friday post again! So sorry I've been absent all these weeks. Fridays I'm just so damn tired and just feel like vegging and reading my book. None of that any more!

    Great opening lines, and I love the cover, too! I am a fan of lighthouses, so I definitely want to know more.
