Book Beginnings on Fridays/The Friday 56 - April 9th

This is a fun meme to do hosted by Freda's Voice. If you'd like to join on the fun go to The Friday 56.

Rules:
*Grab a book, any book.
*Turn to page 56 or 56% in your eReader.
*Find any sentence that grabs you.
*Post it.
*Link it here.

It's that simple.

I'm also joining in Book Beginnings on Friday. It's hosted by Rose City Reader

I'm reading this one this week.  The excerpts are from the E-ARC.

Prologue

It was almost midnight on Saturday night when Danny pulled into the parking lot in front of the apartment building where he lived with his girlfriend, Tracey.  He got out of the car and locked it, wincing at the pain in his right wrist.  He hadn't called her to say he would be late and knew she would be furious.  He swallowed hard, suffused with guilt for all the lies he had told her.

From 56% on my Kindle...

"I'll tell you the whole story soon," she said and took a slow shivering breath.

What do you think?  What are you sharing today?

  1. I like the quotes for this one. From the way it sounds, it seems like the character is in some trouble.

  2. Now I am very curious! I love the cover, too. Here's mine: “MOTHER MAY I”

  3. I love how the two excerpts you shared kind of mirror each other. One about secrets and the other about wanting to tell someone the whole story. I hope you enjoy this mystery! It sounds like a good one. Have a great weekend, Yvonne!

After some careful consideration, I've decided to become an award-free blog. Although I appreciate and am honored by each and every award I've received, your comments and friendship are enough award for me. Thank you all so much for your thoughtfulness.

Due to way too many spam comments, I disabled the Anonymous User comments. We'll see if this works, otherwise I'll have to go back to word verification.
