The Weekend Review - April 17th-19th

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba the Caffeinated Book Reviewer ~ It's a chance to share news~ A post to recap the past week on your blog, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up on our blog for the week ahead.

If you'd like to participate with The Sunday Salon, it is now being hosted by Deb at Readerbuzz.

It’s Monday! What Are You Reading is a meme with a new host!  It's now being hosted by Kathryn at Book Date. This is where we share what we read this past week, what we hope to read this week…. and anything in between! This is a great way to plan out your reading week and see what others are currently reading as well… you never know where that next “must read” book will come from!

I'm also linking to  Stacking The Shelves which is hosted by Team Tynga's Reviews.

Hi Everyone!  Happy Weekend!

We're still having beautiful weather in Florida.  I didn't have a chance to do any nature walks this week, but I did do my regular daily walk with my audio book.  I'm still enjoying listening to audio books.

I finished three books this week which is pretty good for me.  I even managed to catch up a little with my TV shows.  I was glad to see The Blacklist return last night.  It's always so good.

I watched the movie The Founder with Michael Keaton.  It's about the history of how McDonald's came to be such a successful fast food chain.  It was interesting.

My husband and I both received our 2nd Covid vaccine.  So glad that's finished.  No side effects except sore arms right now.  Hopefully it's nothing worse than that.

Overall, a pretty quiet week.  I hope yours went well and that you have a good week next week.  Stay safe everyone!

  1. Yay for getting your second doses of your vaccine! I imagine you are both glad to have that behind you. The weather here in Southern California has been very nice as well. I haven't had a chance to spend too much outdoors though. :-( I am hoping I can talk the family into going to the park tomorrow.

I hope you are enjoying Social Graces. I would like to read that one too. I hope you have a great week, Yvonne and enjoy your reading!

  2. So that's where our beautiful weather from last weekend has gone...please send a bit of it back to us in Texas.

Three books is a great reading week.

Hurray for getting your second vaccine!

I like the look of both The Social Graces and Villa in Sicily. I think I will see if I can find them around here.

    1. I watch way too many shows. My favorites are usually medical dramas like Chicago Med, The Resident and New Amsterdam. I, also, like Chicago Fire and PD, 911 and 911 Lonestar.

  6. Oh that's brilliant you've had the second dose of the vaccine - you must be so relieved:)). And how lovely the weather is behaving so well for you:)). We have plenty of sunshine, but the wind has too much of an edge to be able to sit out in it, here. Have a lovely week, Yvonne.

  8. You have a nice selection of books. Enjoy! I am glad you got both shots already. Now, once a little time passes, you can relax.

I saw my youngest son yesterday and had lunch; the first time in more than two years! He and his wife have both had the first shot.

Your walks sound so good! Enjoy your week, and here are my WEEKLY UPDATES

  9. Hurray for getting your second shot! I hope the sore arm is all you get in the way of side effects. And isn't it great to have all this beautiful weather? It's been lovely here in Virginia, too.

  10. That is quite a large number of books. I usually don't find the free kindle books very appealing, so I end up paying money for what I read.

  11. Yay for completing the vaccines!! I've read really good things about Arsenic and Adobo (and I absolutely love that it involves Filipino culture/food).

  14. Love the cover of Raspberry Ripple Murder! And I kind of want to read Arsenic and Adobo. We've had back to colder spring weather this week, although they're saying maybe snow on Tuesday! Gah!

  20. I"m reading The Stepsisters right know, and while The House Guests wasn't my favorite of Emilie Richards' books, I did enjoy it.

  21. I didn't have any side effects minus a sore arm for either dose of the Moderna vaccine. I hope you are as lucky. I envy you your weather. I woke up to snow on the deck this morning. Come see my week here. Happy reading!

  22. Sounds like a great week!! I can't wait for nicer weather over here in Canada xD It's getting there.. but still quite chilly! Nice book haul, hope you enjoy them all!

  23. Great you had no side effects from the vaccine. Murder and olive oil in Sicily looks like fun. Combining walking with audio is an incentive for both.
