The Weekend Review - April 24th-26th

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba the Caffeinated Book Reviewer ~ It's a chance to share news~ A post to recap the past week on your blog, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up on our blog for the week ahead.

If you'd like to participate with The Sunday Salon, it is now being hosted by Deb at Readerbuzz.

It’s Monday! What Are You Reading is a meme with a new host!  It's now being hosted by Kathryn at Book Date. This is where we share what we read this past week, what we hope to read this week…. and anything in between! This is a great way to plan out your reading week and see what others are currently reading as well… you never know where that next “must read” book will come from!

I'm also linking to  Stacking The Shelves which is hosted by Team Tynga's Reviews.

Hi Everyone!

I hope you all had a great week!  Nothing special here...a couple of days we had beautiful weather and other days we had rain.  It started out rainy but ended up nice.

Do any of you use Feedburner for email subscriptions?  Feedburner is going to be discontinuing their service for email subscriptions in a few months.  What do you use for your blog email subscriptions?

I've been reading so many great books lately.  I finished two really good ones.  The Social Graces was really wonderful and my review is already posted.  I, also, loved Arsenic and Adobo.  My review will be up in early May as that is part of a Blog Tour.  I've really been lucky in finding such good reading.  Books I probably would never know about if it wasn't for blogging and being online.

I've been enjoying my TV shows...The Blacklist, The Resident, The Good Doctor, and New Amsterdam this week.  I still have to catch up with Grey's Anatomy and A Million Little Things.  Reading has taken away from my viewing time and that's fine by me :)

Not too much going on here.  It's the same old which is also fine by me :)  I hope you all have a great week!

  1. I saw that notification about Feedburner, but I honestly don't even use it. Let me know if you found a good one to use.

Enjoy your lovely books this week!

  2. I have heard so much about Feedburner and I honestly don't even know what I've used (which is sad, I know). I don't think I've used it? But I feel for everyone scrambling now to adjust.

So many good looking books. As usual lately I'm gravitating towards mysteries and thrillers...

    Have a great week!

  3. Glad you are still really enjoying your reading, Yvonne!😃 I had heard of Feedburner stopping its email subscription, but as I am on Wordpress and just use there email service, I can't help. I hope you are able to find a good alternative soon. Take care and more happy reading in the coming week. 🙂

  6. Oh I've read Kitty Confidential! It's a lot of fun and you will love the kitty. I've downloaded Tall Tails a couple of weeks back, but didn't get to reading it yet.

I saw The Feedburner is being discontinued. I don't really know what to do. Maybe it's time for a switch, but good grief, I don't know if I have the energy to do that!! I'll think a bit.

Hope you will have a good week and read some great books.

  7. You asked a good question about a substitute for Feedburner. I use Feedburner, and I don't know what to replace it with.

We've had rain and good weather all week, too. Today is beautiful weather, so I'm happy.

So glad you have found some good reads this week. That, for me, will always be the best part of blogging---connecting with others who share good books with me.

Have a great week, Yvonne (even if it is just the Old Same Old...we don't even care, do we?)

  8. I don't use feedburner, but it would be nice to find a good one-stop-shop for all the blogs that I subscribe to on the web so I can check them all in one place.

  9. If ypu have a small following check out Mailerlite. They offer a free version until you reach 1,001 followers. But are the cheapest tiered after.

  10. So many tempting books! I do love the look of your books, and want to read The Social Graces. And The Lighthouse Inn.

My email subscriptions are through WordPress, so I'm guessing that's not Feedburner. How little I know about it!

Enjoy your week. I am loving Grey's Anatomy now...but it will be on break for a few weeks.

    Here are my WEEKLY UPDATES

  11. I use Mailchimp for a newsletter already with my blog and they offer an RSS feed option to send out your daily blog posts much like Feedburner does. I'm going to switch to it.

  16. Sounds like a satisfying reading/viewing time. Yes being online presents so many good reads I'd never have found otherwise. The internet really opened up my reading for me.

  17. I don’t like having my email account cluttered with blog posts, I much prefer Feedly to track my subscriptions. That said I’ve seen a few discussions on the subject lately and MailChimp seems to be popular.

Wishing you a great reading week
