The Weekend Review - August 7th-9th

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba the Caffeinated Book Reviewer ~ It's a chance to share news~ A post to recap the past week on your blog, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up on our blog for the week ahead.

If you'd like to participate with The Sunday Salon, it is now being hosted by Deb at Readerbuzz.

It’s Monday! What Are You Reading is a meme with a new host!  It's now being hosted by Kathryn at Book Date. This is where we share what we read this past week, what we hope to read this week…. and anything in between! This is a great way to plan out your reading week and see what others are currently reading as well… you never know where that next “must read” book will come from!

I'm also linking to  Stacking The Shelves which is hosted by Reading Reality.

Hi Everyone!

The heat and humidity continue here in Florida.  Nothing really exciting happening here.  Just another usual week.  Covid cases keep rising here so I don't really go out too much.

I only finished one book this week, but it was a good one.  I have quite a few good books coming up and I'm looking forward to those.

As for watching TV...I'm not really doing much of that.  I just continue to binge watch Love It or List It on HGTV.  I haven't really felt like watching anything else on TV this summer.  These days I just seem to prefer reading and that's great since I have so many books coming up for reviews.

So, what's been happening in your part of the world?  Read anything new or watch anything interesting?  I hope you all have a great week!

Stay safe and cool!

  3. We had a bit of a late summer but it is making up for it with the heat and humidity! Covid cases are up here too and we are staying home for the foreseeable future. I loved Castle Dark. Hope you're enjoying it as well! Have a great week!

  4. 'The Other Me' looks super intriguing, and with a stunning cover! I also haven't really felt like watching anything on TV, although I did make my first cinema visit this week. Cases seem to be slowing down here a bit again but still more than I'd like so I'm staying home for now. I hope you have a lovely week :)

  10. I a very interested in Deadly Summer Nights. Can't wait to read your review on it.

The weather has been a bit better here with us and not that cold. But apparently we will have another cold spell this coming week. Perfect to get some reading in!

    Have a good week Yvonne!

  11. I am sorry to hear that cases have been rising where you are, however less going out and less television equalling more reading is great!

As for myself, I have just got back from a two week holiday, which was wonderful! Take care, happy reading and I look forward to catching up now I'm back. 😎

  12. We had a very nice first week of August, weather-wise, but now the heat and humidity have returned so we're looking at upper 90s all week. Yuck and thank god for A/C.

Hope you have a nice reading week!

  13. It's warm here, but not awful. The humidity? Well, that really never goes down. For some reason, it does not bother me.

I haven't done much tv lately. I'm between shows, I think.

Falling for Prince Charming and Rocky Road to Ruin both look delightful.

  14. I love the cover of Death in Castle Dark! I hope you are enjoying it.

Given the soaring Covid rates all over the country -- and the heat and humidity -- staying home seems like a good plan right now.

  17. We are experiencing a Delta outbreak here, though not on the scale of Florida’s. It’s still chilly here most days but Spring is on its way.

Wishing you a great reading week
