Book Beginnings on Fridays/The Friday 56 - November 5th

This is a fun meme to do hosted by Freda's Voice. If you'd like to join on the fun go to The Friday 56.

Rules:
*Grab a book, any book.
*Turn to page 56 or 56% in your eReader.
*Find any sentence that grabs you.
*Post it.
*Link it here.

It's that simple.

I'm also joining in Book Beginnings on Friday. It's hosted by Rose City Reader

This looks like a cute cozy mystery.  I hope to read it soon.

First Chapter

Tears streamed down Melissa Gladstone-Beckett's face as she stood on the steps of the stately bed and breakfast that had been her home and livelihood for the past year.

From 56% on my Kindle...

"You just stop right there!" a voice bellowed rudely from behind Echo.

Synopsis from Goodreads:

Missy and Chas start their new life after selling the Inn, but are plagued by scary situations from the very start. Chas and Spencer's first official case at the investigation agency hits far too close to home, and Missy begins to wonder if she might have made the biggest mistake of her adult life. County Coroner, Timothy Eckels, is haunted by the ghosts of his past, and his feisty assistant Fiona fears for her life in this first installment of the Cupcakes in Paradise series.

What do you think?  What are you sharing today?

  1. For a first in a series it sounds like there's quite a lot going on already! Fingers crossed it all turns out for the best. I hope you enjoy this one and that you have a lovely weekend :)

After some careful consideration, I've decided to become an award-free blog. Although I appreciate and am honored by each and every award I've received, your comments and friendship are enough award for me. Thank you all so much for your thoughtfulness.

Due to way too many spam comments, I disabled the Anonymous User comments. We'll see if this works, otherwise I'll have to go back to word verification.
