Book Beginnings on Fridays/The Friday 56 - December 31st

This is a fun meme to do hosted by Freda's Voice. If you'd like to join on the fun go to The Friday 56.

Rules:
*Grab a book, any book.
*Turn to page 56 or 56% in your eReader.
*Find any sentence that grabs you.
*Post it.
*Link it here.

It's that simple.

I'm also joining in Book Beginnings on Friday. It's hosted by Rose City Reader

I'm halfway through this one and it's really good.  A romantic suspense.

First Chapter

The faded blue sedan had seen better days.  So had the driver, a raw-boned, dauntless woman named Reggie Lamb.  Her eyes squinted as she scanned the arriving passengers at Tallahassee International Airport.

From 56% on my Kindle...

For a heart-stopping moment, he had no idea which way was up or down.

Synopsis from Goodreads:

Nothing matters more to her

when a child's life is at stake.

Special agent Thea Lamb returns to her hometown to search for a child whose disappearance echoes a twenty-eight-year-old cold case—her twin sister's abduction. Working with her former partner, Jake Stillwell, Thea must overcome the pain, doubt and guilt that have tormented her for years and denied her a meaningful relationship. For both Thea and Jake, the job always came first…until now.

What do you think?  What are you sharing today?

  1. Ooh that beginning is quite daunting, isn't it? I hope you continue to enjoy this one! The proportions on the cover are slightly confusing me, however xD I hope you have a lovely weekend and a great New Year's Eve!
