My Review

Holly Jameson is struggling to make a career as a dog walker in the small town of Full Fork, New York.  She arrives at her client's house to pick up Darlene Richardson's cute Dachshund, Dixie, when she finds more than she bargained for.  Ms. Richardson is dead and police focus on Holly as the prime suspect.

She takes Dixie with her until Ms. Richardson's family can be located.  Although Full Fork is a small town, they can be really unforgiving.  They all believe Holly is a murderer and they make sure she knows it.  The only one who believes in Holly's innocence is her best friend May who owns a local pet cafe.

Holly snoops around town to find the real killer and clear her own name.  It's not easy.  The more questions she asks, the angrier everyone gets.  Meanwhile, Holly seems to be falling in love with Dixie.  She's determined to make sure Dixie is happy wherever she ends up.

This is a cute, short cozy mystery and the first in a series.  It can easily be read in a few short hours.  Even in such a short book, there are many twists and turns along the way to keep readers guessing at who the killer is.

Very enjoyable, sweet read.  Perfect for this time of year when you want a quick read.
