The Weekend Review - December 18th-20th

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba the Caffeinated Book Reviewer ~ It's a chance to share news~ A post to recap the past week on your blog, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up on our blog for the week ahead.

If you'd like to participate with The Sunday Salon, it is now being hosted by Deb at Readerbuzz.

It’s Monday! What Are You Reading is a meme with a new host!  It's now being hosted by Kathryn at Book Date. This is where we share what we read this past week, what we hope to read this week…. and anything in between! This is a great way to plan out your reading week and see what others are currently reading as well… you never know where that next “must read” book will come from!

I'm also linking to  Stacking The Shelves which is hosted by Reading Reality.

Hi Everyone!

Another busy blog week.  I finished three books this week and I even managed to complete another challenge.  I finished The Backlist Reader Challenge.  I'm really happy about this one because I finished 12 books that have been on my TBR since before 2019.  I try to participate in a TBR type reading challenge every year, but never complete it.  So, I'm happy about this one (it's the little things that make me happy 😀   I'm also 2 books away from completing my Goodreads challenge.  I've already started one and I'm sure I'll finish another before the end of the year.  Maybe I'll even go over 😀

After vowing to cut back on blog tour reviews, I added five more for next year.  I can't help myself.  They all looked so good.

There haven't been many new episodes of TV shows to watch, but this week I watched the winter finales of Grey's Anatomy and Station 19.  Both were good.  I'm not sure why they are labeled winter finales since winter hasn't even officially begun.  LOL

I, also, watched The Unforgivable with Sandra Bullock on Netflix.  Very good movie.

That's about it from here.  How was your week?  Hope you all have a great upcoming week!

  1. Congrats on the challenge! And Sandra Bullock- I haven't seen one of her movies in ages, seems like.

Loving the look of some of your suspenseful reads.

Hope you have a wonderful week!

  3. So many tempting books!

I also watched the Grey's Anatomy "winter" finale, lol; I skipped Station 19, but I may go back and watch it on Hulu.

I stopped participating in the Goodreads Challenges, as they were always messing up the numbers: marking books read that weren't read, etc. I'm not sure what that's about, but if you purchase a book on Amazon, it automatically shows up as "read" and sometimes "to be read." I tried to fix that, but I got frustrated. LOL.

Enjoy your week and the holidays!

  5. Your mystery list doesn't look at all like mine, but I think we both love to read them. And there's so much variety available.

  8. It is so satisfying to check books off of your TBR list. I am also 2 books away from my Goodreads challenge. I think I will make it.

Lots of good reads coming up. I love the cover of Up to No Gouda.

    Have a Merry Christmas!

  10. Congratulations on finishing so many books from your backlist. I have a problem keeping track of the books I read from mine because once I move them from "to read" to "reading" I lose track of the timeline. Oh well. Merry Christmas. My Sunday Salon Post

  14. I don't do challenges but still have set myself a goal of reading books from my TBR mountain. I'm still working on books I added to LibraryThing in 2008. Come see my week here. Happy reading!

  16. Congratulations on completing your challenges and the progress on whittling down the TBR pile. I've already signed up for two new book tours for January since I declared I wouldn't, so I feel your pain. I also grabbed Hope for Christmas when it was free. I think I must have 600 Kindle freebies on my list. I really need to read some of them.

    Hope you enjoy your holidays.

  17. Those camper mysteries look like fun to me.

It's wonderful to hear that you have finished your challenges and that your TBR pile has diminished.

Thanks for telling us a little about the new Sandra Bullock movie.
