Book Beginnings on Fridays/The Friday 56 - January 28th

This is a fun meme to do hosted by Freda's Voice. If you'd like to join on the fun go to The Friday 56.

Rules:
*Grab a book, any book.
*Turn to page 56 or 56% in your eReader.
*Find any sentence that grabs you.
*Post it.
*Link it here.

It's that simple.

I'm also joining in Book Beginnings on Friday. It's hosted by Rose City Reader

I just started reading this one.  Excerpts are from the E-ARC.

First Chapter

Prologue

Dream House

A gull circling in the sea breeze banked into a clumsy slide, then settled gently on the tallest of the beach mansion's brick chimneys like it wanted to be the weather vane.

From 56% on my Kindle...

"New York people, Boston people, Washington people, Hollywood people.  He even knew a bunch of people from London and was always going there.  It's pretty insane how busy their lives are when they don't even have a job."

Synopsis from Goodreads:

Hamptons sand… Hamptons money… Hamptons murder…

When Terry Rourke is invited to the spare-no-expense beach wedding of his hedge fund manager brother, he thinks that his biggest worry will be flubbing the champagne toast. But this isn’t the first time Terry has been to the Hamptons.

As the designer tuxedos are laid out and the flowers arranged along the glittering surf, Terry can’t help but take another look at a decades-old murder trial that rocked the very foundations of the town—and his family. He soon learns that digging up billion-dollar sand can be a very dangerous activity. The kind of danger that can very quickly turn even the most beautiful beach wedding into a wake.

  3. I suppose if I had a lot of money and no job, I could find ways to keep busy. I could probably do that without money too. LOL I love the opening you shared--I can just picture it. It's a very welcoming scene set up. Beach Wedding sounds really good!

I hope you have a great weekend!
