The Weekend Review - August 27th-29th

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba the Caffeinated Book Reviewer ~ It's a chance to share news~ A post to recap the past week on your blog, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up on our blog for the week ahead.

If you'd like to participate with The Sunday Salon, it is now being hosted by Deb at Readerbuzz.

It’s Monday! What Are You Reading is a meme with a new host!  It's now being hosted by Kathryn at Book Date. This is where we share what we read this past week, what we hope to read this week…. and anything in between! This is a great way to plan out your reading week and see what others are currently reading as well… you never know where that next “must read” book will come from!

I'm also linking to  Stacking The Shelves which is hosted by Reading Reality.

Hi Everyone!

As August and summer come to an end, I had a pretty good reading week.  I finished three books this week.  In August I read 7 books.  With a few days left in the month, I may get one more in but I'm not sure.  Still I'm on track with my Goodreads challenge so that's good.

I started watching a show called For All Mankind.  It's an alternative history through the '60's, '70's and '80's regarding Nasa and the Apollo missions.  The first season was really good and I'm about to start the second season.  It's on Apple TV+.

I haven't really been doing very much else.  It remains hot and humid here, so I'm usually inside with my a/c running 😀

How has your week been?  Read or watch anything good?  Hope you all have a great week!

  1. Three books in a week is excellent!

I need to not read your freebie Kindle haul as they all look very tempting!

    Have a great weekend!

  3. I understand wanting to just hunker down inside in the air conditioning. We've had lots of hot and now we are in a rainy pattern. Fortunately, it has been cooling off.

I finished three books last week, and all three were really good...that's a great week for me.

I hope you have a good week, Yvonne!

  4. For Mankind sounds great. I'm re-watching Seinfeld for the second time. I was surprised that I never saw the final episode. A lot of actors have commented how politically incorrect that show was back then.

  5. Hi Yvonne, The hot/humid weather has made me be indoors more as well which has helped reading. It's getting less humid here. I'm eyeing a few good titles on your blog for the RIP Challenge. Hope you have a cooler week!

  7. I struggled in August with my reading because of some other things that came up, but still did get a few books read. I'm looking forward to starting a few more after Labor Day Weekend. Have a great week! :)

  8. Looks like you've read some good books and have more good ones to read. It's cooling down here some but still hot and humid enough that I'm not outside for more than a few minuets.

  9. That show sounds like something my hubby would like. Right now we are binge watching The Expanse on Amazon. There are 6 seasons and I just learned of it. :)

  11. Congrats on reading 7 books this month. This month has been a big fat dud for me as far as reading's concerned. I'm hoping to finish a book before Wednesday so I can at least say I read one book.

For Mankind sounds interesting. I'll have to check it out. I really love alternate history stories.

I hope you have a great week!

  16. I dislike humid weather, hot clear weather is manageable but throw in humid and I am done! Sounds like a good reading and viewing week though.

  18. Great week! I spent a lot of time indoors too even though our weather hasn't been too hot. Come see my week here. Happy reading!

  19. For All Mankind sounds interesting. I like that the cast becomes more diverse over time. If I had Apple TV I suspect I would be now watching it.
