The Weekend Review - August 6th-8th

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba the Caffeinated Book Reviewer ~ It's a chance to share news~ A post to recap the past week on your blog, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up on our blog for the week ahead.

If you'd like to participate with The Sunday Salon, it is now being hosted by Deb at Readerbuzz.

It’s Monday! What Are You Reading is a meme with a new host!  It's now being hosted by Kathryn at Book Date. This is where we share what we read this past week, what we hope to read this week…. and anything in between! This is a great way to plan out your reading week and see what others are currently reading as well… you never know where that next “must read” book will come from!

I'm also linking to  Stacking The Shelves which is hosted by Reading Reality.

Hi Everyone!

It continues to be hot and humid in Florida, but that's what it is in Florida 😀  I continue to stay inside with the a/c.

Our broken refrigerator is now fixed and working better than ever.  That's a huge relief.  I have it all set up inside the way I want and it looks like new.

I'm finally all caught up with Evil.  I think there are two more episodes coming in the next couple of weeks  I still have to catch up with Stranger Things.

I managed to read two books this week.  They were good ones.  I've been doing a good job at limiting the number of review requests I accept.  Soon I'll just have NetGalley and Edelweiss books to read.  That's fine.  I can catch up with those too.

Not too much else going on here.  Basically, it's been quiet.  I hope you all are having a great weekend and have a great upcoming week!

  5. Where you live in Florida is just like where I live in Texas---summer is going to be hot and humid. We always have a lovely breeze, and that's nice.

I'm glad you are finding ways to manage your incoming books. I used to love to get books-for-review in the mail, but now I prefer to limit those.

I hope you have a good week, Yvonne.

  9. Glad you're back in business with the refrigerator! We've been hot and humid all week. When I compare it to our FL location, there doesn't seem to be a lot of difference, lol! Your books this week look good - enjoy!

  10. I can't imagine living in Florida. I live in Central Maryland and it is way too hot and humid for what I can tolerate. I enjoy basking in the A/C, but I can't wait for cooler weather so I can start taking my walks again. Have a great week!! :-)

  13. Yay to the fridge!!!! That must be a relief to have that thing working properly again. I need to have my dang oven / stove top looked at. Either there is something WRONG with it or else at least 3 heating elements are all on the fritz at the same time.

  17. Quiet weeks and a couple of books read is a win I think. NIce to be able to execute a No to review books that overwhelm.
