Have you ever finished a book, then turned around and immediately re-read it? Why? What book(s)? (question courtesy of MizB)
My answer...never! As a general rule, I do not re-read books. I have a couple of reasons for this...
1) I have so many books in my TBR, I just don't have time to re-read.
2) Nothing is ever the same for me the second time around. When I've gone on vacation and loved a location, it was never as good the second time I went. It's the same with books for me. I think it comes from knowing exactly what's going to happen next. It just loses something for me.
3) If I loved a book so much, I just don't want to take the chance that the next time I won't like it and it would ruin it for me.
Do you re-read?

ReplyDeleteDoing an about turn
I have a few favorites that are just as good the second or third, etc. time around.
ReplyDeleteI don't reread books now as my tbr list is too long!
ReplyDeleteI only reread books from my childhood which I have forgotten.
ReplyDeleteI will re-read a book if I absolutely fell in love with it the first time...it has to be pretty special, though. :) I have a few on my shelves that are THAT special.
ReplyDeleteAs an adult, I don't reread very often. But I did so much as a child and teenager. However, as I've been reading people's posts I realized that I do reread nonfiction. Usually because I can't keep all the info in my brain!
ReplyDeleteOther than my ultimate favorites, it happens only when I don’t understand what I’m reading.
ReplyDeleteI totally agree! I have way too many new (to me) books to read and don't want to waste the time re-reading books
