Today’s MUSING MONDAYS post is about your tbr pile…
How many books (roughly) are in your tbr pile? Is this in increasing number or does it stay stable? Do you ever experience tbr anxiety in the face of this pile? (question courtesy of Wendy)
My Answer:
This is an embarrassing question for me...over the years (especially since I joined the online world), my TBR has continually increased. It now numbers literally above 10,000. My entire guest room is now a TBR room. Stable? Does it stay stable? No! It increases by the day for one reason or another.
TBR Anxiety? Oh yeah, I have that! Logically I know I'll never read all these books in this lifetime and it does tend to stress me out. Not that I'm going to do anything to improve the situation. I'll just quietly worry...then again, I seem to be worrying about everything lately.

Well, I guess I should take some solace in the fact that you have more TBR books than I do. Truth be told though, I have an embarrassing amount in my own as well. My guest room is also my TBR room.
ReplyDeleteSometimes it does bother me that I have so many--especially when I think of having to move them all in a couple of years or so. I do want to read all of those TBR books. I really really do. Will I? Probably not. I try not to think about that though. LOL
My TBR pile at home is not that big, but my list for books at the library that waits...yes will take ages
ReplyDeleteAll I can OMG! OMG!
ReplyDeleteKeep reading each moment!
:D
My musings
Your TBR pile sounds like a full time job for a staff of 20! :)
ReplyDeleteLiterary Feline - I try not to think about it either. Many of the books are old Harlequin and Silhouettes that I will probably never get around to.
ReplyDeleteBlodeuedd - At least I have something to read when I retire! LOL
Gautami tripathy - LOL - I've often suggested to my husband that I quit working so I can read, but he doesn't seem to agree for some reason.
Kalea_Kane - It's not my fault...really! It's the publishers! They keep coming out with new books. LOL
A tbr table, THAT'S what I need!
ReplyDeleteI think you will win the largest TBR 'pile' contest..if there were a contest. wow.....
ReplyDeleteWow - mine stands at about 400, so you win hands down. I am convinced mine is a comfort thing - I don't comfort eat anymore because I have worked so hard at dieting, so I buy books instead, they make me feel so much better. Even though I know I will never read them all, I like to have a good selection to choose from.
ReplyDeleteOh gosh! Mine is tiny in comparison.
ReplyDeleteOh, thank goodness! I was beginning to think -- after reading most of the other MM participants' answers -- that I was the only crazy one with a list over 100 books long! LOL. :P Thanks! :D
ReplyDeleteI'm having heart palpitations over your tbr room! LOL You can be your own library.
ReplyDeleteHonestly - I didn't try to have the biggest TBR, it just happened and I totally blame my online life. Someone talks about an interesting book and I have to get it. LOL
ReplyDeleteAbout 45 in my pile. Hundreds on the list. I would probably experience reading block anxiety more than a TBR one. I've got other things to worry about... :)
ReplyDeleteI suggest you don't think of it as your TBR room but as your library. Had a comfortable chair and you can relax in style! =) Here I am worrying about my little stack. . . Don't worry. Just imagine all the potential of great reads you have in your possession that you haven't read.
ReplyDeleteMatt - I wish I did have a smaller TBR - at least I'd have a chance to finish the books in this lifetime. LOL
ReplyDeleteVasilly - Yes, it definitely is more like a library. Very true - I probably have some excellent reads in there - with all those books, I should :)
My pile is probably well over 1,000 but I've never counted because I really don't want to know. :)
