Sunday Salon - August Wrap Up!

It's hard to believe but August is over and Fall is almost upon us. I had an average reading month. I read 8 books, all were really good reads...
The Summerhouse by Jude Devereaux
The Lie by Fredrica Wagman
Naughty Neighbor by Janet Evanovich
The Beach Club by Elin Hilderbrand
How to Tame A Modern Rogue by Diana Holquist
Confessions of A Trauma Junkie by Sherry Jones Mayo
Along Came A Spider by James Patterson (Audio)
Flashes of Glory by Elisabeth Lee
I don't really have a favorite as they were all really good. I'm hoping September will be equally as good. It's off to a good start since I already read Unbridled by Tori Carrington and loved that one. I'm currently reading Everything Sucks and am almost finished with that - another really good book.
I can't believe I only have 4 months to finish some of my reading challenges. I've kind of resigned myself to not completing all of them, but you never know. I might just shock myself. I think next year, I'll be a bit more conservative in the number of challenges I join. I'll see how it all works out by the end of the year.
I just finished watching Revolutionary Road. I have the book in my TBR and ended up watching the movie first. I was a bit disappointed. It was good, but not as good as I thought it would be. It kind of dragged in spots. Maybe the book is better.
That's my week and month in a nutshell :) I hope everyone has a great week!

Thank you for stopping by and visiting my blog! I always love reading comments and getting to know my readers!
After some careful consideration, I've decided to become an award-free blog. Although I appreciate and am honored by each and every award I've received, your comments and friendship are enough award for me. Thank you all so much for your thoughtfulness.

You've read some good books this month. I haven't read my first Patterson yet. I'm looking forward to reading Beach Road soon.

I am beginning to think I won't complete a couple of my challenges too. I keep find other books to read that just don't fit into my challenges.
ReplyDeleteI won't be able to finish some of my challenges either. But, I've had a great time reading such a wide variety of books.
ReplyDeleteI haven't read any of the books that are on your August list. Looks like a great list of books.
Have a good weekend!
You had a great month. Sorry you did not like the movie Revolutionary Road. I did not see it, but I reallt thought the book was powerful.
ReplyDeleteHow did September sneak up on us so fast? It's hard to believe we only have four months left to complete challenges. I'm only half way through the WWII challenge. I get sidetracked way too easily and find so many other books to read. Time to focus! Have a good week Yvonne and happy reading.
ReplyDeleteTea - I read Beach Road awhile ago and loved it.
ReplyDeleteVivienne - That's my problem, too. I keep running into books I want to read that won't fit into a challenge.
Nan - Sounds like a few of us won't be finishing challenges. Like you said, it's been great reading different books, though. I had fun with this.
Diane - I think I will like the book Revolutionary Road better than the movie. The movie just didn't do it for me, but I do have the book and it looks so good. I'm going to eventually get to it.
Kaye - Same with me - I get sidetracked way too easily. LOL
It's hard to believe the year is almost over. Just a few short months to go. I've kind of decided that I won't be joining any challenges next year, but then, you know how that goes. I say that now, but then when the time comes, I won't be able to resist.
ReplyDeleteI'll be curious to know what you think of Revolutionary Road when you read it. I haven't really had an inkling to try it nor to see the movie. Maybe someday.
Have a great week!
Oh how cute! (THE CAT!!)
ReplyDeleteI'm very interested in Revolutionary Road -- I personally think one should watch the movie first, and then be pleasantly surprised by the book -- which should be heaps better. And the endings are often different in the films, so it doesn't always spoil the book. SOMETIMES! :)
Great job! Looks like you read some good books. Hope Sept. treats you well, too. :)
