This week’s musing asks…
Do you need to have your owned books out where you can see them, or are you okay with them being stored away?
My answer...
With my huge TBR, I've learned to be okay with storing them away in Rubbermaid bins. I have the bins numbered and I have a list on my computer of which books are where. I'd much rather have them lined up on bookshelves, but it's just not possible. Even with all my books taking up the guest room, it's just unmanageable. I still have to clear alot of books out of there, although I have made some headway.
My dream would be to have them all shelved, by author, so I can see everything whenever I wanted to, but it's not going to happen. I'm not that organized. LOL

After some careful consideration, I've decided to become an award-free blog. Although I appreciate and am honored by each and every award I've received, your comments and friendship are enough award for me. Thank you all so much for your thoughtfulness.

You ARE organized to have them filed in numbered boxes and a computerized list. Wow, I'm impressed. I love your cat picture. I think those same thoughts every day!
ReplyDeleteI've only done my review lists on the computer. You are organized.
ReplyDeleteI would say you are very organized, to have them in numbered boxes and on the computer to tell you where each book is located. And the cat picture is right on, my feeling exactly. LOL...
ReplyDeleteI am partial to the Sterilite brand boxes, with locking lids.
ReplyDeleteNow the lists...I never though of that. Can I hire you to do mine? lol
I'm with Caite... are you for hire? lol. I did get as far as taking cover pictures so I have some idea of my books stored on my computer.:)
ReplyDeleteI love the cat! New follower.

I've done the same thing with the bins and having a computer list.
ReplyDeleteNew follower!

I won't store away books that I haven't read yet. The ones I do have stored away are ones I might have not enjoyed too much...lol. I'd never dream of storing any Austen away...lol.
ReplyDeleteWell I guess I already have them stored. Many back in my girl room back home
ReplyDeleteI would also love to have my books stored by author. Maybe someday. LOL

I like the kindle so I dont have to worry about storing :)
ReplyDeleteI am lucky enough to have a big enough space in my living room that my To Be Read books store in bookshelves by alpha order of author and put in place by series... I used to store in boxes with a list of the books, with almost 400 books it got too hard for me to lift them and reorganize so now have shelves next to my computer armoire and behind my recliner...
ReplyDeleteStill have to rearrange them when get new books in the mail but it is not so much lifting...
Love the kitty caption Yvonne, my favorite captioned pics to use are the LOL cats.
You are quite organized. My classroom library is organized in open bins by genre, series, or author which works quite well for the kids. At home, books are randomly on shelves but don't stay there for long. I tend to give away books because I can't stand to see them not being read. The Kindle has helped too!
ReplyDeleteHey Yvonne, I have the same thoughts as that cat frequently....LOL
ReplyDeleteI could only wish I was as organized as you! My books TBR are in piles on my dresser.
