Blog Tour: Shuffle Up and Deal by Susan DiPlacido (Review and Kindle Fire HD Giveaway!)

About the Book

When Izzy and Nick meet in embarrassing fashion at a Las Vegas poker tournament, Izzy's secret dreams turn into a public nightmare. But despite her humiliation, she may have finally sparked Nick's interest in something other than cards. Before long, Nick takes a gamble on Izzy and raises the stakes when he offers to help her sharpen her game. But Izzy's convinced that Nick is bluffing and will fold his hand after he's had her on the flop. But a string of outrageous proposition bets and steamy trips on the poker tour, from Los Angeles to Miami, make these two fierce competitors realize that it may be time to put all their chips on the table. Will Izzy and Nick pair up? Or will they lose it all if they go all-in for each other? Sit down, ante up, and hang on, as Nick and Izzy get ready to Shuffle Up and Deal.

My Thoughts

This was like having two books in one.  The first half of the book is told from Izzy's point of view.  The second half from Nick's point of view.  Then there is part three which has a little of both.  I found it very interesting to read each character's point of view.  It gave me an insight as to why they were the way they were and why they took some of the actions that they did.

I know next to nothing about poker so some of the gambling terms were meaningless to me, but it didn't ruin the story for me.  The context of the book were sufficient to keep me understanding what was going on.  Some of the side bets that were made - especially by Izzy seemed crazy to me but they had me laughing and that's what's important.

Shuffle Up and Deal is an extremely hot book.  The sex scenes are absolutely on fire - so if this type of book isn't for you, stay away.  Otherwise, sit back and enjoy the antics of Izzy and Nick as they both get to know each other and even try to compete against each other in poker tournaments.   You will have many hours of laughter and enjoyment.  I was LOLing through every page.  I'd love to read a sequel of this one, but even if there isn't a sequel, I already put this author's books on my wishlist.  She has a great backlist of books.
