Sunday/Monday Posts - January 8th and 9th

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba the Caffeinated Book Reviewer ~ It's a chance to share news~ A post to recap the past week on your blog, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up on our blog for the week ahead.

If you'd like to participate with The Sunday Salon, it is now a Facebook group.

It’s Monday! What Are You Reading is a meme with a new host!  It's now being hosted by Kathryn at Book Date. This is where we share what we read this past week, what we hope to read this week…. and anything in between! This is a great way to plan out your reading week and see what others are currently reading as well… you never know where that next “must read” book will come from!

I'm also linking to  Stacking The Shelves which is hosted by Team Tynga's Reviews.

Happy Sunday!

The first week of January was a busy one.  I finished a couple of books I started but didn't have a chance to finish before.  All good books, just not enough reading time.  I'm also behind on commenting on blogs, so I'm hoping to get some of that done this weekend.

The first week of January also ended with a huge snow storm here in New York.  They originally made it sound like it was no big deal and just a couple of inches, but we're ending up getting significantly more than that. When all is said and done, we may end up with as much as a foot of the white stuff. Hopefully this will be cleared out by the time I go to work on Monday. For now, I'm just being cozy and home reading :)

I finally put up the review links for the reading challenges I host.  I put them in my sidebar hoping it will make it easier for participants to find them.

Hopefully, since I'm snowbound anyway, I can do some catching up on reading, blogging, and TV watching.  Hope you all have a great week!

Yvonne

  1. Our weather situation was the complete opposite where I live. They predicted snow. Everyone freaked out (because I live in Alabama and we rarely see snow), and then IF it snowed at all it was from midnight to 4 am and was all melted before the sun came up. But I hope you enjoy your time snowed in to catch up on reading and blogging. I'm behind on comments too! Sigh! Have a great week!

  2. All of the cozies look soooo tempting. I am also meaning to read something by Jill Shalvis this year.

Thanks for sharing, and enjoy curling up in a cozy room...and here are MY WEEKLY UPDATES

  4. We haven't had more than 5-8 inches here this winter, but my mother is flying in the first week of February, so I am thinking we will get a blizzard..lol Hope you get some reading time!

  5. We got a bit of snow too and the roads have been bad. Hopefully yours clear up before the start of the week. Have a good week!

  6. Eww, I am glad you got all that snow and not me. :) Hope it's cleared out for you on Monday. I just got done with Telling Tails myself and it was cute! :) Now I am listening to Two Tall Tails which has a novella for Second Chance Mysteries in it, the other novella is for Magical cats but I haven't read that series.

Hope you get lots of reading done!

  8. I miss snow. I know it's annoying when it comes down like that and disrupts everything, but I moved from a snow country (Switzerland) to the South of England and we just don't get any snow here and I miss it. We just get grey, boring, cold and depressing rain.

  9. Telling Tails looks good. Sorry you got so much snow, we got lucky in my part of Massachusetts with only a few inches.

  10. Our winter storm lasted longer than expected too. Hopefully we will see some nicer weather. Enjoy that Jill Shalvis book, it was good.

  11. It sort of snowed here! Meaning, it did snow, but it was more of a nuisance than anything else. It was also super cold. -_- I see you got a Shalvis book! I got several of her books in 2016 but haven't read any of them. I hope you enjoy all of your new books!

Have a fabulous week, Yvonne. :)

  12. Yvonne, thank you for stopping in for a visit. Last week ended with cold and snow here in the Tennessee Valley. Nothing like what y'all got but in the south one flurry spells disaster. People panic, grocery store shelves stripped, and wrecks lots and lots of 'em. Come to think about it I don't recall hearing any reports. Maybe with the brunt of it happening late Friday night kept folks safer. The good news is this week looks better weather wise, so I'm anxious to climb out of deep freeze for awhile. Have an awesome week, keep warm, and be safe!

  13. The snow keeps missing us. We are expected to get the dreaded "wintry mix." I really hate ice and would much prefer inches of snow. Come see my week here. Happy reading!

  14. Talk about being far behind on commenting, I have had your blog up for almost a week meaning to stop by and leave some comment love. *forshame*
It is wicked cold here in Conecticut. Only 13 degrees outside right now. We have loads of snow just laying around with no hope of melting anytime soon. I love the snow, so I don't mind.
I don't read Cozies for the most part. I got all these promised reviews piling up. I wish you luck on your challenges and hope you enjoy all your new reads. Have a great week!

  15. We've been getting rain - and quite a lot of it, for California. There's major flooding in some of the surrounding neighborhoods. I'm glad that this will help the drought, but hope it eases up soon or we'll have major mudslide problems to deal with instead.

I've been mostly finishing reading the books that I didn't get finished in 2016, though I also started listening to "The Princess Diarist" today. Once I'm done with my current library books, I'll be moving on to my first Cat Mystery book for the year! I'm looking forward to that.

Hope your snow is better now than it was over the weekend!
