2021 Netgalley and Edelweiss Reading Challenge - Sign Up

Thank you to Gadget Girl 71 for the beautiful badge above.  It's so much better than anything I can come up with.  Thank you!

I'm happy to announce that I've taken over the Netgalley and Edelweiss Reading Challenge from Tina at Reading Between the Pages.  I'm always feeling like my Netgalley and Edelweiss shelves are getting out of hand and thought this challenge would help me out alot.  So, although it's the eighth annual challenge, for me it's my first :) Keep reading for all the info...

Welcome to the eighth annual
NetGalley and Edelweiss Reading Challenge!

What the challenge is all about…

Are you feeling overwhelmed by the number of NetGalley/Edelweiss books sitting on your shelf to be read?
Have you lost your 80% rating and would love to get it back?
Do you want to challenge yourself to read more NetGalley/Edelweiss books?
Do you need extra inspiration to achieve that next badge?

If the answer is “YES” to any of these questions then this is the challenge for you!

Challenge guidelines…

  • The challenge runs from January 1, 2021 – December 31, 2021. There is no deadline to sign up.
  • Everyone is welcome to participate – you do not need to have a blog.
  • Any genre, release date, length, etc. counts – it just needs to be a book from NetGalley or Edelweiss.
  • Books can count for more than one challenge that you are participating in.
  • The first day of each month I will post a monthly “link-up” for you to link your reviews. If you forget one month, no worries, just catch up the next month.
  • Questions: Feel free to leave a comment below.

The Levels…

Bronze – 10 Books

Silver – 25 Books

Gold – 50 Books

Platinum – 75 Books

Diamond – 100 Books

To sign-up…

  • Make a blog post stating the level you intend to read in 2020 and link that blog post to Mr. Linky below.  The first Link should be your name, the url should be the direct link to that blog post, not your main blog page.
  • If you do not have a blog then state your reading level in the comments below and how you will be sharing your book reviews.
  • Last but not least, be sure to come back every month and link in those reviews. This is really the hardest part – remember to do the monthly “link-ups”!

I'm looking forward to a fun year of reading!

*This challenge was created by Emily@Falling for YA, then moved to Katrina@Bookish Things & More (site no longer available), then moved to  Reading Between the Pages and now resides here at Socrates Book Reviews.

  2. I’m not sure if you have seen my reply to you on my blog? I have taken the copy rights out of my challenge art work and also made one that says you are hosting it. So if any one wants to use them they can.

  7. I'm going to go for the Silver level. I average 65 books a year, so with the 25 NetGalley titles, I have leeway to read a lot of my shelved books as well as borrowed books and on-the-spur titles. I'll review at https://www.goodreads.com/annbeman

  13. since this the first time I'm done this, not sure if I did it right, but when you hit my link Spooky's Maze Of Books just got to the side where it says pages and hit the one where it says NetGalley and Edelweiss Reading Challenge that will then take you to the page and you can see the link to goodreads, one of the main reason is a lot of the netgalley arcs I'm reading are for blog tours so I don't post on my blog of the tour but I do post on Goodreads , while others will be my non blog tour NetGalley books, their be posted pn both goodreads and my blog and the link will be posted on that page,

    1. You can post a comment saying what level you are participating in. Do you have Goodreads? You can create a GR shelf with your challenge reads. You can post your GR link in the sign up. Or just list your books as you read them in the comments section.

  19. Also can you specify what the "link-ups" mean and where I can do it after every month? TIA!!

    1. The "link-up" means, each time you post a review of a book you read for this challenge, you post the review on your blog and then post that link address into the the link for that month's reviews. The link up will be on the sidebar on my blog. If you scroll down my sidebar, you will see "2021 NetGalley/Edelweiss", under there right now is a link for January books. On the first of each month I will post a new link for the new month. I hope that didn't confuse things more.

  23. Thank you for hosting! This is the first time participating in any challenge. I do not know if my entries are showing up correctly. To me they are in green and everyone else's are white? Did I do something incorrectly?

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Which link is yours? The ones in white just mean those are links you didn't visit. Yours would come up in green because you it's your own site. I hope this helps.

After some careful consideration, I've decided to become an award-free blog. Although I appreciate and am honored by each and every award I've received, your comments and friendship are enough award for me. Thank you all so much for your thoughtfulness.
