The Weekend Review - April 15th-17th

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba the Caffeinated Book Reviewer ~ It's a chance to share news~ A post to recap the past week on your blog, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up on our blog for the week ahead.

If you'd like to participate with The Sunday Salon, it is now being hosted by Deb at Readerbuzz.

It’s Monday! What Are You Reading is a meme with a new host!  It's now being hosted by Kathryn at Book Date. This is where we share what we read this past week, what we hope to read this week…. and anything in between! This is a great way to plan out your reading week and see what others are currently reading as well… you never know where that next “must read” book will come from!

I'm also linking to  Stacking The Shelves which is hosted by Reading Reality.

Hi Everyone!

This was a much better reading week for me.  I read three books.  It probably had a lot to do with all the rain we got in Florida last week.  My heart goes out to all those suffering from weather-related problems.  Fortunately, I don't live where all the flooding occurred, but we did have heavy downpours which meant there was nothing to do but stay home and read.

I, also, caught up on some of my TV shows like Survivor, The Blacklist, 911, Blue Bloods and Fire Country.

Although the heavy rains have stopped, it's overcast and looks like it still wants to rain.  The temps are in the high 80's so it's pretty humid.  This means more staying home for me and reading.  I guess there's a plus side to bad weather.

Not much else to report from here.  I hope you all are having a great weekend and have a great upcoming week.

These are still on my April reading list, but I'm starting to make a dent in them.  Although, I do expect some will carry over to May.

Here are this week's Kindle freebie haul. They were freebies when I got them, I don't know if they still are. Always make sure to check they are still free before buying. The prices change quickly.

  1. We had such a good time in Tampa Bay early February that it breaks my heart to hear about the feet of rain in Ft. Lauderdale, where I have relatives. We considered Fla as a retirement place but are wary of all the water -hurricanes, flooding, etc. But I guess every state has its own problems.

  8. I started Soulmate this week and so it's very good & holding my interest - good luck with tackling your stack for April! Not sure whether to hope the weather stays the same so you read more or that it improves so you can get out and about :)

  9. As hurricane season approaches, I always go into a bit of panic mode. The heat and hurricanes are the two big negatives about living where you and I live.

It's always a good week if I manage to read a couple of books. Lately I've been distracted by solitaire. I think I'm going to have to remove it from my phone!

  10. The flooding in Ft. Lauderdale is awful... glad you were okay where you are! We only got about 1/2" of rain, but that's the most we've had since Hurricane Ian. It settled all the dust and helped things green up, too. Glad you had a good reading week.

  14. Hi! looks like you had a decent week despite the rain. The rain missed us which I don't mind. I have started the Agatha Raisin series! I am on #3.

Have a great week and happy reading!

  16. Yes weather related events seem to be the thing now, not much fun for those who get hammered and lots of heartache. Hope the Brenda Novak book is good.

  18. The weather has been so crazy. Flooding and tornadoes in places. I pray it calms down. Glad to hear you weren't anywhere near the flooding.

Hope you enjoy your books this week. The Glass House sounds good.

  19. Glad you are high enough not to flood even if it is wet. Here's to a week ahead of great reading.

  20. All of your books look so good! I really need to start reading Agatha Raisin - maybe I will start with the audiobooks instead! I love the Hamish Macbeth books. :)

  21. The weather here hasn't been good. We had snow again over the weekend which just makes the local flooding worse. Thankfully, no flooding near my house! Come see my week here. Happy reading!

  22. All your books sound good to me, but I am NOT going to add them to my TBR! Well, at least, not all of them. ;)
I listen to the Agatha Raisin books on audio, too, and I know I've listened to the Witch of Wyckhadden. Will have to check where I am in the series and pick it up again.

  23. Yay to good reading weeks! A few places got hit with flooding this last weekend near me. This weather has been crazy this winter and spring.

  24. That rain sounds terrible. I'm glad you didn't flood. I keep seeing the Seaside Library everywhere. Looks like a perfect summer read. I need to track it down.

  25. A rainy week is always good for reading but all that rain can definitely cause serious damage. I'm glad your area avoided the flooding. Seaside Library looks really good! I'm hoping to pick it up soon. I hope you're having a great week!
