Booking Through Thursday

Whether you usually read off of your own book pile or from the library shelves NOW, chances are you started off with trips to the library. (There’s no way my parents could otherwise have kept up with my book habit when I was 10.) So … What is your earliest memory of a library? Who took you? Do you have you any funny/odd memories of the library?

My Answer: I really don't remember who first took me to the library, but I would have to guess it was my mother since my father worked nights and slept during the day. I also used the library at school alot. I don't really have any specific memories but I do remember falling in love with one specific book. I don't know the name, but it was about a fictional witch (I must have started liking paranormals way back when.) I remember trying to get the librarian to sell the book to me, but she wouldn't (probably knew I had no money-LOL).

  1. The most difficult thing about libraries is that you don't get to KEEP the book.

  2. It's funny how you fall in love with books as a child, isn't it ;0)

  3. I remember not having a problem with not keeping the books. I just had problem that I want to read them all. Still do.

  4. Libraries were such a big part of my childhood. Probably because my family had so little money and my parents love for reading was passed down to her children. I can't recall my first library visit either and most of my memories are more general than specific too. I enjoyed this week's BTT very much. :-)

After some careful consideration, I've decided to become an award-free blog. Although I appreciate and am honored by each and every award I've received, your comments and friendship are enough award for me. Thank you all so much for your thoughtfulness.
