Tuesday Thingers

Today's question: LT and RL (real life)- do you have friends in real life that you met through LibraryThing? Have you attended any LT meet-ups in your area? Would you be open to attending meet-ups or is LT strictly an online thing for you?

My answer: I don't belong to LT, but I'm starting to think I really need to. I've been hesitant since I have Goodreads and Shelfari, but I'm going to check it out when I get home from work.

So, I'll take a different approach to the question, I've met some online friends in RL. Not recently, but years ago. It was fun and I wasn't disappointed. I email so much that I consider my online friends to be RL friends. In fact, the ones I know in person don't have nearly as much in common with me as my online friends.

  1. I've never tried this. I'm a little bit freaked out by it to tell you the truth.

  2. It's definitely fun meeting up and seeing the person you feel like you 'know' for the first time. It's weird too but a good weird. I've always met up in restaurants or something like that the first time. And it's always turned out well.

  3. I have found myself in this situation too - I share many more interests with my online friends than my IRL ones.

Thank you for stopping by and visiting my blog! I always love reading comments and getting to know my readers!

After some careful consideration, I've decided to become an award-free blog. Although I appreciate and am honored by each and every award I've received, your comments and friendship are enough award for me. Thank you all so much for your thoughtfulness.

Due to way too many spam comments, I disabled the Anonymous User comments. We'll see if this works, otherwise I'll have to go back to word verification.
