Booking Through Thursday

This week's question:

Happy New Year, everyone!

So … any Reading Resolutions? Say, specific books you plan to read? A plan to read more ____? Anything at all?

Name me at least ONE thing you’re looking forward to reading this year!

My answer...

I joined as many reading challenges as I did so that I would finally get to read books that have been languishing in my TBR for way too many years. That includes catching up on Evanovich's Stephanie Plum series, Patterson's Womens Murder Club series, Macomber's Cedar Cove series and finally starting Robyn Carr's Virgin River series. So, I guess my resolution is going to be reading what I have and catching up. I know I have some real treasures already in my TBR. I can't make a resolution to stop buying new books because I know I'll never do that, but I can try and make a real effort to read what's already there.

Happy New Year Everyone!

  4. I have resolved to not buy books too and it didn't last for very long. That is one resolution I didn't mind breaking (although I think my pocketbook did). Happy reading in 2009.

  5. I really shouldn't buy any more books - but I know I will.

  6. I need to read what I have too. I actually created a perpetual challenge for myself to accomplish this goal.

I also want to catch up on current series and start new ones.

    Happy New Year!

  7. A resolution not to buy books wouldn't work for me either. Good luck with your challenges!

  8. Reading challenges are so much fun! I have quite a few review books I need to get to and so I stacked all my challenges with those books. Knock two cans off the fence with one stone sort of thing.

I decided to join the Buy A Book and Read It Challenge. It goes counter to my goal to decrease my TBR collection, but I know I won't be able to resist buying books altogether. Maybe this will slow me down some.

    Good luck with your challenges!

  9. Seems like so many of us are joining reading challenges in the hopes to knock down our TBRs. I hope we're all successful.

Bluestocking - Thanks. Yes, I do know about the Plum book in January. I'm looking forward to getting that one too, plus one of her regular Plum books in June.

Literary Feline - That sounds like an interesting challenge. Good luck with it!

    Happy New Year to all!
