It's that simple.
This week I'm reading...
Finally Gaby joined Tom dishing steaming oatmeal into bowls. She worked fast and efficiently at his side, noticing that almost every bowl had a chip in it. That was her own doing. She insisted that they use real dinnerware - no paper or plastic, except for the napkins.

Thank you for stopping by and visiting my blog! I always love reading comments and getting to know my readers!
After some careful consideration, I've decided to become an award-free blog. Although I appreciate and am honored by each and every award I've received, your comments and friendship are enough award for me. Thank you all so much for your thoughtfulness.
Due to way too many spam comments, I disabled the Anonymous User comments. We'll see if this works, otherwise I'll have to go back to word verification.

I like it! Very down to earth, with the oatmeal and the chipped bowls. I can sense a "normalcy" about what lies ahead.
ReplyDeleteHere's MY FRIDAY MEMES POST and
MY WEBSITE
I just finished this one yesterday and I loved it. It got me in the cheer of Christmas, plus it was fluid writing.
ReplyDeleteHi Yvonne,
ReplyDeleteThe whole style of this book cover, looks so unlike the usual James Patterson, that it is difficult to imagine it being a mystery novel.
I agree with Laurel Rain, that the scene you depict seems so normal for most households, that it is difficult to see anything untoward happening.
I did take a sneak look at the synopsis, just to make sure it was by the same 'James Patterson' and I was intrigued ... I wonder why she feels the need to keep the identity of the bridegroom a secret? and what the surpise is that she has in store for her children?
Can't wait for your review of this one,
Yvonne
Hi!
ReplyDeleteI have to agree, this just doesn't seem like a James Patterson book. I'll have to check this one out. Have a great day!

This cover is so different from a James Patterson norm. I must return to read your review.
ReplyDeleteA very down-to-earth, homey scene!
