This week's question...
I saw this article the other day that asked, “Are you ashamed of skipping parts of books?” Which, naturally, made me want to ask all of YOU.
Do you skip ahead in a book? Do you feel badly about it when you do?
My answer...
Since I mainly read suspense and mystery these days, I don't skip ahead. I like to get caught up in a story and be surprised as it evolves. When reading romances, I might skip a few paragraphs now and then (usually if the love scenes get too intense - LOL), but I never skip to the end of the book or anything like that. It ruins things for me if I know how it's going to end.

Thank you for stopping by and visiting my blog! I always love reading comments and getting to know my readers!
After some careful consideration, I've decided to become an award-free blog. Although I appreciate and am honored by each and every award I've received, your comments and friendship are enough award for me. Thank you all so much for your thoughtfulness.
Due to way too many spam comments, I disabled the Anonymous User comments. We'll see if this works, otherwise I'll have to go back to word verification.

Oh, I'm currently reading a very suspenseful book, in which I want to shield my eyes from glancing ahead...because around a very unexpected corner, there might be the clue we've been waiting for....
ReplyDeleteHere's MY THURSDAY MEMES POST and here’s
MY WEBSITE
Interesting question. The only time I skip ahead is if it's gruesome. Other than that, I don't skip.
ReplyDeleteAwww Cute pic!
If the steamy love scenes get to steamy, I pitch the book, I don't even skip to the end to see the ending.
ReplyDeleteThe picture is a cutie. Love it.
I enjoyed reading your answer.

Good point!! There are some romantic scenes I don't want to experience fully - except, well, never mind. Not publicly along with book characters.... well, whatever. *ahem* I AGREE!! My BTT: http://burgandyice.blogspot.com/2012/01/booking-through-thursday.html
ReplyDeleteLike you, I definitely try not to skip ahead in my mysteries. But there are times...

I never skip ahead. I just can't bear to do it but I know friends that do and have no qualms about reading the last page of the book. To me that is sacrilege! Ha!
ReplyDeleteOne of these things is not like the other! lol
ReplyDeleteAnd no...I don't skip!
