This week’s musing asks…
Why do you think that the Young Adult genre is so popular with even the adult readers? Do you read YA books, yourself?
My answer...
I don't usually read YA. I think adults like it for a change of pace. They are usually quick, light reads. Sometimes it's nice to go out of your comfort zone and read something different - if it's a lighter read, it makes it much easier to read outside what you are used to. A few of the YA borders on being adult fiction anyway. If they weren't labeled "YA", I wouldn't have even known.

Thank you for stopping by and visiting my blog! I always love reading comments and getting to know my readers!
After some careful consideration, I've decided to become an award-free blog. Although I appreciate and am honored by each and every award I've received, your comments and friendship are enough award for me. Thank you all so much for your thoughtfulness.
Due to way too many spam comments, I disabled the Anonymous User comments. We'll see if this works, otherwise I'll have to go back to word verification.

I don't read YA, don't think I would relate to the charaters or storyline. Plus due to the fact that there are so many books in my bookcase, Kindle and Sony EReader waiting TBR, in the genres I enjoy, I don't need to add more books that are the "it" books.
ReplyDeleteI do enjoy YA, but don't make as much time for it as I'd like to.
ReplyDeleteI haven't read a YA book. Don't understand why Adults read them. Maybe I should try one, but like CMash I have to many on my TBR pile waiting to be read.
ReplyDeleteI too don't read YA!
ReplyDeleteHere is my post!
I am not a big YA reader, but you are right..sometimes it is hard to tell a YA from an adult book.
ReplyDeleteYA has come a long way in the last few years. A few of the best books I've ever read have been YA. It has helped me read out of my comfort zone.
ReplyDeleteI didn't read YA before blogging and in the first year realised it is not for me. I have definitely enjoyed a few though which haven't been the 'hyped' ones. I don't know why adults are reading them actually, it is a good light read at times.
ReplyDeleteI'm with you, Yvonne. I don't often read YA, but when I do, I tend to enjoy my selections.
ReplyDeletethose kitties have a Ying/yang thing going on.
