It's that simple.

This is from the book I just finished reading...

From page 56 from the paperback...

Everett and Rebecca were sitting at the table next to Maggie and Roma. I touched Abigail's arm to tell her. At the same moment I caught sight of Dayna Chapman putting a hand to her throat. Her face was the same ashen color as the sky before a December storm. She made a sound halfway between a wheeze and a rasp.

  1. I love cats and love visiting your blog because I will see cats and more cats.

  2. I love the way her face is described. I always think it's so special, the way in which authors manage to write about their characters and settings and somehow make it perfectly plausible that they resemble a storm. That's some great writing right there! I might have to check that one out! Thanks for sharing :) Hope you have a great weekend!

  3. Cute cover! I almost always enjoy escaping in the pages of a cozy, and this looks like a good one. I like the author's description of Dayna choking. Nicely done.
My Friday post features BEAUTIFUL RUINS.

  4. That is a scary thing to experience...and to see. It makes me want to know what happened and what will happen next. Thanks for sharing.

    Cute cover, too.

    Here's mine: “THE CARRIER”

  5. Sounds like choking! I hope you enjoy the story!
    Happy weekend!

  6. I've seen this book before. Perhaps on your blog:) I can't resisit a good cozy. I'm wondering if she's reacting because of what he's going to tell or because somethings wrong with her. Hmm, need to know! LOL
    here is my 56 -

  7. Oh, that doesn't sound good; anaphylaxis? asthma attack? choking? eeep I'd keep reading to see what happens.
