Sunday/Monday Posts - June 3rd and 4th

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba the Caffeinated Book Reviewer ~ It's a chance to share news~ A post to recap the past week on your blog, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up on our blog for the week ahead.

If you'd like to participate with The Sunday Salon, it is now a Facebook group.

It’s Monday! What Are You Reading is a meme with a new host!  It's now being hosted by Kathryn at Book Date. This is where we share what we read this past week, what we hope to read this week…. and anything in between! This is a great way to plan out your reading week and see what others are currently reading as well… you never know where that next “must read” book will come from!

I'm also linking to  Stacking The Shelves which is hosted by Team Tynga's Reviews.

Happy Weekend!

I really love summer and it's really starting to feel like it around here.  Maybe a little humid, but it's sunny and so much nicer than winter :)

I've been busy on the blog...I had posts almost everyday.  I haven't been reading as much as I'd like to, but I think that's a product of me trying to read everything at once.  I need to just concentrate on one book at a time, which I did with Murder Made to Order and read through that one really fast.  I'll continue with Dreams of Falling and Beach House Reunion next.  They both started off really good so it's not exactly a chore to read them.  My problem is that my head is already thinking of what to read next.  I have to stop that.  LOL

Do any of you belong to Kindle Unlimited?  They have a nice selection of books (mainly indie authors).  It's a bit pricey for a yearly subscription, IMO.  It's nice if you don't have access to a library, though.

I'm still catching up on my TV shows.  I fell in love with Timeless all over again.  I binge watched yesterday and still have to watch the season finale.  If it wasn't a 2 hour episode, I would have finished it by now. Colony is good with Josh Holloway, but I think I'm biased because I loved him as Sawyer on Lost.  Once I finish all my DVR...then I'll try Safe on Netflix.  I've heard many good things about that show.  As a side note, I'm a huge fan of the FX show The Americans.  They had their season finale this week and it was excellent.  What a great show!  I will miss it.

Have any of you seen Unleashing Mr. Darcy on the Hallmark Channel?  It's a movie and this weekend is the sequel Marrying Mr. Darcy.  I enjoyed the first one and I'm recording the second.  The lead actor is Ryan Paevey who used to be on General Hospial and I really like him.  I was sorry he left the show, but glad to see he's making movies.

So, what have you all been up to?  See any good movies or TV shows?  Read anything good?  I hope everyone has a great week!

Yvonne

I'm still currently juggling a couple of books. I keep going back and forth between them, which is why I haven't finished either one yet. Both are good, though.

I'm finished reading...

Here are this week's Kindle freebie haul.  I seem to be getting many romances these days.  They were freebies when I got them, I don't know if they still are. Always make sure to check they are still free before buying.  The prices change quickly.

These books are coming up for reviews/blog tours in the next couple of months:

  4. You got some great books this week. I really enjoyed Timeless, hope you’re able to finish binging it. :) Most of the time I can find books through Kindle Unlimited that our small library doesn’t carry. Have a great week!!!

  5. I love summer so much, too. I have a Kindle Unlimited subscription because Amazon offered a crazy low deal. I will probably unsubscribe after that ends, though.

  6. I am eager to get my hands on Dreams of Falling.

I saw Marrying Mr. Darcy, with Ryan Paevey looking hot and handsome...I recorded it last night, but then watched it almost immediately. Enjoy!

  7. I don't belong to KU as I belong to Audible and that costs me each year, but yes I agree for someone without library access it is great. I do have Prime which gives me a free book a month and access to their library.

  8. I'm reading Dreams of Falling and really enjoying it. I get the always anxious to start reading the next thing. I'm the same way and am trying to figure out a way to bring in a bit because I think it's hurting my reading overall. Have a great week!

  10. I've been doing a little jumping around in reading books lately. It's mostly the freebies. I do well with my review ARCs as they are normally of a high quality.

I am trying Kindle Unlimited right now. I could never keep it as in a month I can maybe get to 1 book with all my review books. Summer is the slow time at work so I can read more. But most of them I could buy for less than the $10 a month to have KU. Anne - Books of My Heart
