The Weekend Review - April 11th - 13th

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba the Caffeinated Book Reviewer ~ It's a chance to share news~ A post to recap the past week on your blog, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up on our blog for the week ahead.

If you'd like to participate with The Sunday Salon, it is now being hosted by Deb at Readerbuzz.

It’s Monday! What Are You Reading is a meme with a new host!  It's now being hosted by Kathryn at Book Date. This is where we share what we read this past week, what we hope to read this week…. and anything in between! This is a great way to plan out your reading week and see what others are currently reading as well… you never know where that next “must read” book will come from!

I'm also linking to  Stacking The Shelves which is hosted by Team Tynga's Reviews.

Happy Weekend Everyone!  It's hard to believe but most of us are still on "stay-at-home" orders.  I'm doing okay here.  Thankfully no one is sick here and we're still just waiting for the "all clear" that life will be going back to normal.  This is a long process though and who knows when that will be?

In the meantime, I did finish reading three books.  I'm all caught up on most of my shows,  I'm still trying to catch up with Grace and Frankie on Netflix, but I'm no longer falling behind like I've done in the past.  Most of my shows have already aired their season finales, others will do so soon.

I was hoping to do more reading, but it's still kind of hard for me to concentrate on any one thing.  I'm getting there though.

So, how are you all holding up?  I hope you are all well and staying safe!

Yvonne

  3. From the news I am getting at work, May will be much the same as April. I will be glad when it is over too. I am glad you were able to finish three books, even if it isn't as much reading as you would have liked to do. It's the same for me. I am hoping my current book will help, but we'll see. I hope you enjoy your new books! Stay safe and well. Have a good week.

  4. Mousse and Murder has a wonderful cover. I'm glad to see you are reading.

We have found a couple of old nature programs that have kept us nicely distracted. We are watching The National Parks and Our Planet. There seems to be something comforting about nature.

The poor cat on the cover of Revenge is Sweet looks like she is practicing social distancing.

  5. I do love watching shows on Netflix, Hulu, and Prime. I am enjoying Little Fires Everywhere. I also started Season 4 of The Good Fight. Love Christine Baranski's character.

I need some good cozy mysteries right now, but I also must start my May NetGalley ARCs.

Enjoy your week, and stay safe.

  7. I’m also finding my concentration is poor, it’s easier to watch tv and surf through the news, than focus on reading.

Wishing you a great reading week, good health and a Happy Easter 🐣

  8. It's hard to imagine what our new normal will be. We've been watching more too, although we are all working from home, so at least we have that schedule. Be safe!!

  9. My doctor neighbor told me to resign myself to being home through May :( We'll see and each state seems to be doing their own thing, so who knows? I'm enjoying the extra time with my guys, but a pedicure would really make my month.

  10. Yes, I know what you mean, but I am determined just to keep putting one step in front of the other and not make any kind of longterm plans for the rest of the year... I hope the coming week is a peaceful, healthy one for you.

  12. I am going to be interested to see what you and others thought of the Robyn Carr book. I wasn't too enthused by it. Stay safe, yes who knows how long this will go on for. Perseverance is needed!

  16. We're just waiting around too. Thankfully not sick and not impacted other then not leaving the house. You've got some great reading books coming up. I adored the first book in the Nancy Cole Silverman series. Have a great week!

  17. I love Grace and Frankie. It's a feel-good show and makes me happy. I didn't manage to finish any books this week, but I'm still getting some reading in but it's hard to concentrate. I have a couple of mysteries I think I may try this week. It may be just the thing I need. I hope you continue to have a safe and healthy week!

  18. I've been watching a lot of shows also. It's hard for me to concentrate when reading. I keep starting one book and then setting it aside to start another. I do hope this all clears up soon.
