The Weekend Review - April 18th - 20th

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba the Caffeinated Book Reviewer ~ It's a chance to share news~ A post to recap the past week on your blog, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up on our blog for the week ahead.

If you'd like to participate with The Sunday Salon, it is now being hosted by Deb at Readerbuzz.

It’s Monday! What Are You Reading is a meme with a new host!  It's now being hosted by Kathryn at Book Date. This is where we share what we read this past week, what we hope to read this week…. and anything in between! This is a great way to plan out your reading week and see what others are currently reading as well… you never know where that next “must read” book will come from!

I'm also linking to  Stacking The Shelves which is hosted by Team Tynga's Reviews.

Happy Weekend Everyone!

Another week of self-isolation and I'm finding that I'm reading a little more.  Not much, but a little.  I still can't completely concentrate on reading but I'm getting there.

I'm enjoying my TV shows, although I think most have already ended.  Survivor may be the only thing I have left.  I did watch the movie Once Upon A Time in Hollywood and enjoyed that.

There's really not much new to report over here.  We're still under lockdown and hoping to get back to normal.

I hope you are all doing well.  Have a great week!

Yvonne

  3. I am glad you are reading more, Yvonne. I hope I will too soon. I am thinking of starting to watch Once Upon a Time again soon. I haven't seen Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, but I have heard good things about it. I would like to read The Star-Crossed Sisters of Tuscany and hope you are enjoying it. Mousse and Murder sounds so good! I think I may have to pick up a cozy soon. I hope you have a good week. Stay safe and well.

  5. Your summation of your week closely mirrors mine. I read much more this week, and I read more easily. I did almost nothing outside of reading this week, though. We watched a bit of tv, and I did a bit of writing and a little blogging, but nothing else. I got out of the house once to go pick up groceries.

I think I need to start a project that will fully engage both my mind and body. I'd like to work on my flower beds outside. It may be my new project.

I hope you have a good week!

  6. I love Julie Mulhern's series. I must check to see if she has a new book.

Enjoy settling into your new place...and reading when you get a chance.

I love watching Little Fires Everywhere on Hulu...and I started Mrs. America.

    Here are my WEEKLY UPDATES

  8. I'm hanging in there even with moody reading. It was a better week for me after getting through some issues. Maybe I'll find time to watch some tv this week.

Stay safe and have a great week! Happy reading!

  9. Yep, lockdown is still ongoing here too. The UK government just extended ours for another 3 weeks! :/ To be fair, I'd rather get it all out the way upfront rather than be cut loose only to be locked down again in a month or two because of a second wave, but still...

  11. You had a busy week on the blog and another one coming up so you are keeping busy. I'm glad you have a little more concentration for reading. I am so ready to go back to work but I don't know when that will happen. Stay safe, be well, and happy reading!

  12. My focus is still a little scattered, so I sympathise.
It’s going to be interesting to see how long the hiatus for tv show filming last ps and what effect it will have.

Wishing you a great reading week and good health

  14. The Star Crossed Sisters looks good, like one I'd enjoy. Yes I find my reading is improving a little too. I make myself sit down for at least 20min to read at times!!

  16. I put in for some ARCs from NetGalley, getting all ambitious several weeks ago -- then I never went to collect them and download the ones I was approved for! I can't seem to get organized. I start projects and then don't stick with them. Sigh. I can't really blame this entirely on the pandemic! All this to say, that's great that you're still reviewing and participating in blog tours even if your reading isn't as much as you would like! I like the sound of a lot of your upcoming books!
My Monday reading post is here:

  17. Looks like some fun books you've been reading lately. My reading patterns have been a bit sketchy too. There are a lot more interruptions with everyone home ;) Enjoy your week!
