The Weekend Review - November 28th-30th

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba the Caffeinated Book Reviewer ~ It's a chance to share news~ A post to recap the past week on your blog, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up on our blog for the week ahead.

If you'd like to participate with The Sunday Salon, it is now being hosted by Deb at Readerbuzz.

It’s Monday! What Are You Reading is a meme with a new host!  It's now being hosted by Kathryn at Book Date. This is where we share what we read this past week, what we hope to read this week…. and anything in between! This is a great way to plan out your reading week and see what others are currently reading as well… you never know where that next “must read” book will come from!

I'm also linking to  Stacking The Shelves which is hosted by Team Tynga's Reviews.

Hi Everyone!

For those who celebrated Thanksgiving this week, I hope you all had a healthy and safe holiday.  My husband and I had a quiet dinner together.

I set up the three reading challenges I host each year.  The links to sign up are on my side bar for those interested in joining.  I have to decide which ones, hosted by others, I will be joining but I'll join a couple.  Not many, though.

I want to thank Ann from Our Rainbow Friends for creating the badges for Cookie and Trudy on my sidebar.  Aren't they beautiful?  I miss those girls so much.

I started to binge American Horror Story 1984 on Netflix.  I watched the first couple of seasons of AHS.  The first season was good, but then it just got so crazy that we stopped watching.  Then we saw the 1984 season and decided to give it a try.  I think it's been really good.  We only have two more episodes left to watch.  It went quickly.

As far as reading goes, I only finished one book this week but it was a good one and it featured a cat.  What could be better?

So, what has your week been like?  I hope you all have a great week!

  1. Yes your labels are lovely, it must pinch your heart every time you see them, though. I'm also thinking a lot about my Triskell these days, too. I see you had a great book haul, lots of fun reading times ahead ! Enjoy your sunday, Yvonne :)

  2. Hi Yvonne! No nothing can be better than books and cats. I am going to have quick look at your sign ups for next year! Thanks for hosting them!

Have a good week and take care of yourself.

    Lots of Love,

    Elza Reads

  3. I'm currently watching AHS 1984 as well. I've seen the first two episodes but I love it already! I think the Asylum's and Witches season are the best :) The Hotel is great too, but mainly because of the crazy rol that Lady Gaga plays!

  4. Your current read looks so good! I'll definitely be checking that one out. ;)
    Stay safe and happy reading.

  5. I don't usually sign up for challenges, but I read a lot of cozies so I might check out Cruisin' through Cozies. Check out what I read at Girl Who Reads.

  6. Glad you managed to have an enjoyable, peaceful Thanksgiving, Yvonne. I love the look of your upcoming read - The Secret on Run Runner's Lane:). Wishing you a great week:)

  7. I am glad you had a great Thanksgiving and that you had a great meal. Have a great weekend.

    Week in Review

  9. Yvonne, I am pleased to hear you enjoyed a quiet Thanksgiving with your husband and those badges for your kitty cats are lovely.😊 This week was our last week in England's second lockdown, so looking forward to a little more freedom next week. Take care and happy reading in the coming week.🙂

  10. What a sweet tribute to your beloved kitty's.

Wishing you a great reading week

  11. Your books look so good...and sometimes I enjoy savoring one or two books...and really immersing myself in them.

Have a great week, and here are my WEEKLY UPDATES

  12. I'm happy to see that you have gotten your challenges posted for 2021. Wonderful. I passed along one of your challenges to a friend that I know will love it.

We also had a quiet Thanksgiving. Not a normal Thanksgiving, but it was actually quite nice.

If you can only finish one book, then let it be a cat book. I can't think of anything more purrfect right now than reading cat books.

    Have a lovely week!

  13. Glad you had a nice Thanksgiving. XO

  14. The badges are adorable! I plan to watch American Horror 1984 this week and just finished The Crown. Watching the new season of Virgin River now.

  15. Yvonne, I'm glad you had a nice Thanksgiving. Your cozies look tempting! Enjoy your reading in the week ahead!

  16. TELL TAIL HEART, what a cute play on words. Did it give a nod to Poe?

I am just emerging from my politic hangover and looking toward 2021 with hope. My Sunday Post

  17. Been meaning to get back to AHS too. I stopped after the first season too. Enjoy your current reads.

  18. I have a few of your books on my list too. Glad you had a nice holiday.

  19. I've been listening to a lot of audiobooks of old favorites lately. Your Thanksgiving sounds nice. Come see my week here. Happy reading!

  20. I used to watch AHS, but I didn’t love any of the seasons, so I stopped. The first few episodes of each season are usually good, but then they get convoluted and weird. Enjoy your new books. Have a great week!
