End of the Year Wrap Up - Bye 2020!

I can't remember when one year was so bad for everyone.  Hopefully 2021 will be a much better story for all of us.  For now, here's goodbye to 2020:

On a personal side...I lost my two beloved cats...Trudy and Cookie...

I will miss these two girls forever.  They've left a huge hole in my heart.  To add to this, my mother just lost her beloved cat who she had since he was a baby.  He was 19 years old.  Such a horrible year.

As far as the humans in my family, we were very lucky with our health.  We've been very careful during the pandemic and we've all been fine.  Just waiting until the vaccine is available to us.

This has been the first full year we've lived in Florida.  It's been a crazy year.  We haven't even been able to really embrace it since, for the most part, we've been home.

On a positive note, we did adopt two kittens.  They are the cutest things and so sweet.

Books and Blogging...

I can't believe I started this blog in 2008.  Next year it will be 13 years.  I never ever expected it would last this long.  It's been fun.  I'm still trying to decide if I should switch to Wordpress, but I'm lazy and will probably just stay here.  LOL

My reading went down.  You would think being stuck home because of a pandemic would make me read more, but it had the opposite effect.  I was too busy trying to get info and watching the news non-stop.  I don't expect 2021 to be like this, but we'll see.

I had been reading mostly cozy mysteries until this year.  Now, I have expanded to thrillers, suspense, and romance.  Maybe reading different genres will help me to read more.

I will do a separate post on my top reads of the year and a separate one for wrapping up my 2020 reading challenges.  It just helps me to keep things organized to do separate posts.

Despite the bad year of 2020, I am looking forward to 2021.  I'm looking forward to reading many great books, participating in reading challenges and continuing this blog.  I'm having too much fun to stop now :)

Here's wishing everyone a great and Happy New Year!

  5. I'm not surprised your reading decreased; the pandemic has been stressful. I read more, being laid off for 3.5 months helped, but I'm a stress reader. You can generally tell how stressed I am by how much I'm reading. Here's hoping this year will be calmer, happier, and a less stressful reading year.

Thank you for stopping by and visiting my blog! I always love reading comments and getting to know my readers!

After some careful consideration, I've decided to become an award-free blog. Although I appreciate and am honored by each and every award I've received, your comments and friendship are enough award for me. Thank you all so much for your thoughtfulness.

Due to way too many spam comments, I disabled the Anonymous User comments. We'll see if this works, otherwise I'll have to go back to word verification.
