The Weekend Review - December 19th-21st

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba the Caffeinated Book Reviewer ~ It's a chance to share news~ A post to recap the past week on your blog, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up on our blog for the week ahead.

If you'd like to participate with The Sunday Salon, it is now being hosted by Deb at Readerbuzz.

It’s Monday! What Are You Reading is a meme with a new host!  It's now being hosted by Kathryn at Book Date. This is where we share what we read this past week, what we hope to read this week…. and anything in between! This is a great way to plan out your reading week and see what others are currently reading as well… you never know where that next “must read” book will come from!

I'm also linking to  Stacking The Shelves which is hosted by Team Tynga's Reviews.

Hi Everyone!

Time keeps going by and I'm totally losing track of what day it is.

The new members of our household - kitties Oreo and Cookie - are loving their new home.  We keep buying toys for them and they are actually playing with them.  LOL  I'm not used to that - typically when I'd buy toys for my older cats, they preferred the wrapping whether it's a plastic bag, wrapping paper or a box.  I guess kittens just love it all.  It's been a long time since we've had kittens.  They are always together.  Such cuties.  Pictures do not do them justice, but I'll keep taking them :)

As the year comes to an end, I evaluated where I stand with my 2020 challenges.  I signed up for 8 reading challenges (3 of them I host), plus the Goodreads challenge.  I completed 4, but I'm not going to complete the other 4, plus I won't complete the Goodreads challenge.  I wish I did better, but I'm not obsessing over it and I'll do a yearly wrap up at the end of the year.  I still enjoy participating in them and I'm already signed up for challenges in 2021.

I completed two books this week, now to write up reviews for them.  I didn't get that far yet :)  I have quite a number of TV shows on my DVR.  I haven't felt much like watching them as I've been binging on Netflix.  I finally caught up with Wentworth and loved that show.  I can't wait for next year when we get a new season.  I just started watching The Flight Attendant which I'm enjoying.

So, how was your week?  Anything exciting going on?

To all those celebrating Christmas this week, a very Merry Christmas.  I hope you all enjoy the holiday season!

Have a great week!  Take care and stay safe!

  1. Those kittens are adorable! Have fun watching them play.

I also love Wentworth. I wish it didn't take so long to get new episodes, but luckily there are lots more shows we can watch on Netflix, Prime, and even Hulu.

    Have a great week.

  4. Such lovely kittens, they must be a real ray of sunshine inside your house :) And cats who love their toys and don't prefer the cardboard that held them are a rarity ! I wish you a merry and cosy Christmas :-*

  5. I had cats before we had children, and I found them to be delightful. I'm glad you are enjoying the new kittens.

I think you did well on your challenges. It was a strange year. I decided to take on some challenges in 2021 for the first time in a long time.

Snowed in with You sounds like a perfect book for 2020.

    Merry Christmas!

  6. Hi Yvonne! As I opened your post, I was wondering how the little kitties are doing. Thanks for sharing more photos! They look so cute and adorable, but most importantly - I am so glad they bring you such joy.

Start wrapping your Christmas prezzies and see what they do then. I am starting with that tonight...!

Don't fret about the incomplete challenges. I only had one this year and I still need to complete 3 books. But I think I'll manage! And then I'll start with the new sign-ups. Yes, your purrfect one is on my list. Will do the sign-up posts after Christmas.

Have a wonderful week Yvonne and if we don't speak again before Friday - Merry Christmas!

    Lots of Love,

  13. The Flight Attendant looks good. I need to watch it before Comcast no longer gives us Netflix as part of the deal.

  14. They’re so cute! I remember when I got my first puppy. I’d only had older dogs, so the nonstop puppy energy was shocking. Have a great week!

  17. I only do the Goodreads challenge. I upped my goal a while ago and then surpassed it again. I think I'll have to start with a bigger number next year. This pandemic has been good for reading if for nothing else. Come see my week here. Happy reading!

  18. Oh gosh, Cookie and Oreo so adorable, thanks for sharing them. Challenges are just that, we aim but don't always get there and its okay, still fun. I want to try a Christina Dodd book sometime.

  20. Oh the new kittens are so cute! There really isn't much cuter then a kitten - except maybe two! This year was crazy for reading. Mine was all over the place. Sometimes I read a ton and then I'd go days without even picking up a book. Hope you are having a great week!
