Book Beginnings on Fridays/The Friday 56 - February 17th

span style="font-family: arial;">

This is a fun meme to do hosted by Freda's Voice. If you'd like to join on the fun go to The Friday 56.

*Grab a book, any book.
*Turn to page 56 or 56% in your eReader.
*Find any sentence that grabs you.
*Post it.
*Link it here.

It's that simple.

I'm also joining in Book Beginnings on Friday. It's hosted by Rose City Reader

I'm hoping to read this one soon.  It looks good.

First Chapter

I wanted to be alone with my Snickers bar.  It waited for me, calling to me from its secret hiding place in the handy food drawer of my desk here at work.  I needed it.

From 56% on my e-reader...

Feeling let down, I headed for my car, then got an adrenaline rush when I saw a dark figure leaning against it.  It was him...

Synopsis from Goodreads:

Sabrina Hunter believes the way to happiness is being thin.

Which makes it tough for a girl like her, who can eat her body weight in tater tots.

The publisher of her first novel has just turned Sabrina’s life-long dream into a nightmare by deciding to market her as their “glamorous author of glamorous books,” relying on an old photo she put on her website two years ago. Sabrina is terrified they will cancel her contract when they discover she has rejoined the ranks of the chubby. She has to get down to a size 4 again, and with the book’s launch only a few months off, she will have to do it fast.

When Sabrina joins a support group for compulsive overeaters, she expects to lose those extra pounds. She doesn’t foresee what she will gain: friendship, love, new interests, and the surprising knowledge that you don’t have to be thin to find serenity.
