First Chapter, First Paragraph, Tuesday Intros - March 6th

It's Tuesday!  It's time to share your excerpts and teasers from books we are currently reading, have read or are planning to read.  So, feel free to join us by sharing the first paragraph or (a few) of a book you are reading or thinking about reading soon.  This meme is guaranteed to increase your TBR :)

Please link your blog post using Mr. Linky below. Make sure the link you enter is the direct link to your Tuesday post, not the main link to your blog. Thank you!

Teaser Tuesdays is a weekly bookish meme, now being hosted by Ambrosia at The Purple Booker. Anyone can play along! Just do the following:

* Grab your current read

* Open to a random page

* Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page

* BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)

* Share the title & author, too, so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers!

This is what I'm reading this week. Another cozy I'm enjoying. The excerpts are from the E-ARC.

First Chapter

"Don't do it, Astra!" was the last thing I said before the fur hit the fan.

Because when Malvolio, the distillery cat, sauntered into the teasting room, the twitching of his tail was akin to waving a red cape in front of a bull.  My dog sat up in the sun and barked.

Synopsis from Goodreads:

A barrelful of bonkers…
As mixologist Pepper Revelle preps for the Bohemia Bartenders’ gig in beautiful Kentucky bourbon country, she finds a great new friend in distiller Royce Doucet. Even if her pup Astra makes an enemy of his crafty cat. But Pepper’s hopes of a smooth launch of Royce’s superb new bourbon go awry when a ghastly murder overshadows the festivities.

As if Pepper isn’t shaken enough, one of Royce’s guests surprises her with news that will change her life. But is she ready to welcome someone new to her family? Especially when she’s still trying to figure out if she and chief bartender Neil are doing this romance thing or not. She hardly has time to consider the consequences as they encounter a troublesome set of Royce’s acquaintances—and suspects.

It doesn’t help that Pepper’s irksome ex Mr. Mixy wants to interview her for his ego-trip memoir. Pepper just wants to make great drinks and solve the mystery. But her sleuthing puts her in terrible danger, and soon she realizes that nothing is as it seems. Can she and Neil find the killer before they’re toasted like the inside of a bourbon barrel?

BEGUILED BY BOURBON is the fifth book in the Bohemia Bartenders Mysteries, funny whodunits with a dash of romance set in a convivial collective of cocktail lovers, eccentrics and mixologists. These quasi-cozy culinary comedies contain a hint of heat, a splash of cursing and shots of laughter, served over hand-carved ice.

What do you think? Would you keep reading?

  1. I'm guessing Astra is a dog (just read blurb - I was right!) and I'm wondering what chaos is ensuing! Sounds fun!

Thank you for stopping by and visiting my blog! I always love reading comments and getting to know my readers!

After some careful consideration, I've decided to become an award-free blog. Although I appreciate and am honored by each and every award I've received, your comments and friendship are enough award for me. Thank you all so much for your thoughtfulness.

Due to way too many spam comments, I disabled the Anonymous User comments. We'll see if this works, otherwise I'll have to go back to word verification.
