The Weekend Review - July 15th-17th

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba the Caffeinated Book Reviewer ~ It's a chance to share news~ A post to recap the past week on your blog, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up on our blog for the week ahead.

If you'd like to participate with The Sunday Salon, it is now being hosted by Deb at Readerbuzz.

It’s Monday! What Are You Reading is a meme with a new host!  It's now being hosted by Kathryn at Book Date. This is where we share what we read this past week, what we hope to read this week…. and anything in between! This is a great way to plan out your reading week and see what others are currently reading as well… you never know where that next “must read” book will come from!

I'm also linking to  Stacking The Shelves which is hosted by Reading Reality.

Hi Everyone!

I can't believe we're heading towards the third week of July already.  We seem to be in the rainy season in Florida.  Quite a few thunderstorms almost every day with way too hot temperatures.

I only managed to finish one book last week.  I haven't watched much TV either.  I did see the season finale of The Blacklist.  Anyone else watch?  I'm so sad it's over.  Star Trek's Strange New Worlds is the only other show I'm watching right now.  I got bored with Jack Ryan, but I will eventually get back to it.

I really want to concentrate more on my reading, though.  Since I'm not watching much TV, you'd think I would read more.  I think I'm on the computer too much.  LOL

That's about it from my corner of the world.  How about you?  Read or watch anything good this week?  I hope you have a great week!

Here's the rest of my July books.  With the way time is flying, I'll probably end up carrying over a couple into August.

Here are this week's Kindle freebie haul. They were freebies when I got them, I don't know if they still are. Always make sure to check they are still free before buying. The prices change quickly.

  1. Thanks for the links to get lists of bargain kindle e-books. I had trouble signing up for one of them. It kept giving me an error message. However, I was able to sign up with Book Gorilla. I grabbed a handful from those emails this week. Enjoy your weekend. :)

  2. I'm struggling to read still, and like you the internet is taking up too much of my time.

  3. Summer went by too fast as a kid, and it goes by too fast now. There's never enough time to do all the nothing you want.

  4. We have had a lot of thunderstorms too. One lasted about 6 hours the other night. We watched Blacklist and it was sad , but I am mad that they never addressed who he really was. XO

  5. I just started A Fatal Groove and so far so good! This year has been weird. It seems to be flying by and the weather this summer seems to be constantly rainy. I'm used to little pop up storms but this summer seems to be more rainy than otherwise. We watched the first couple of seasons of Blacklist but got distracted and never went back to it. I hate when a favorite show ends! Have a great week!

  6. My husband followed Black List from the beginning - I just watched the first couple seasons. We just finished the Jack Ryan series....didn't love it. It's SO complex, I had no idea what was going on so the whole thing became boring. Looks like you've got some good books coming up....Happy Reading

  7. We've been having some hot weather too, but no rain. I haven't watched The Blacklist in ages. Can't believe it's over. I also can't believer we're half way through July! I hope to pick up A Likeable Woman soon. Hope we both love it!

  8. It's been so insanely hot here as well with a few thunderstorms but not hardly enough for my taste! I also have been spending too much time zoning out on the internet rather than reading but I think it's what my brain needs right now xD I hope you enjoy your books! I hope you have a good week :)

  9. We actually had hail recently in MN and that was kind of terrifying. I made sure to go out to work a few minutes after it finished.

  10. Seems like storms are everywhere, we have had a few but luckily they were not to bad, we really needed the rain.

Hope you get in some good reading!

  14. July is speeding by, can't believe the month is almost over! I didn't read as much as I would have liked this week either. I hope we both get more time this week. Have a great rest of your weekend!

  15. I think I also spend too much time on the Internet. I added Instagram and Threads over the last week and a half. But I don't watch much tv. I listen to audio during chores which helps me fit in more reading. I got some of the same freebies as you.

  16. We are enjoying Strange New Worlds very much. It took us a while to break down and buy yet another streaming service.

I wonder if Macarons Can Be Murder would work for Paris in July.

  17. Sometimes it's good not to have a plan. Like you, I can't believe we are in the middle of July already. In a month's time, our youngest will be heading back to college.

    Hope you enjoy your books.

  20. Haha, I have the same problem with the computer! I wonder where all my time goes. I spend too much time on YouTube. That's where it goes.
