The Weekend Review - July 29th-31st

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba the Caffeinated Book Reviewer ~ It's a chance to share news~ A post to recap the past week on your blog, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up on our blog for the week ahead.

If you'd like to participate with The Sunday Salon, it is now being hosted by Deb at Readerbuzz.

It’s Monday! What Are You Reading is a meme with a new host!  It's now being hosted by Kathryn at Book Date. This is where we share what we read this past week, what we hope to read this week…. and anything in between! This is a great way to plan out your reading week and see what others are currently reading as well… you never know where that next “must read” book will come from!

I'm also linking to  Stacking The Shelves which is hosted by Reading Reality.

Hi Everyone!

Another quiet week here.  I don't mind that at all.  It's so hard to believe we are almost in August.  Half the summer is already gone.  We did manage to get some pool time in today and that was nice.

I finished three books this week.  All were good ones.  I haven't been doing much TV watching.  A little baseball, but that's about it.  I'm trying to do more reading these days.

I have my August books lined up, although it's going to change before the end of August.  I never stick to everything I plan as far as my reading goes.

So, what have you all been up to?  Anything exciting going on in your part of the world?  I hope everyone has a great week!

This is my possible list of August books.  My schedule always changes so this isn't written in stone.  I guess it's more like a draft reading list 😁

Here is this week's Kindle freebie haul. They were freebies when I got them, I don't know if they still are. Always make sure to check they are still free before buying. The prices change quickly.

  10. Honestly, how is it almost August?! And I'm all here for quiet weeks, I'm hoping to have one myself now. I also feel you on not sticking to reading schedules etc. My plans are great, but my reading takes me wherever it chooses to! I hope you have a good week :)

  14. Quiet is good. I am doing as much of the indoor stuff as I can during the heat of July and August. I think having a plan is good because then you have options. I'll be juggling up my August reads a bit also.

  15. I often don't stick to my monthly plan either, but I like having it anyway. It feels less overwhelming. Stay cool and have a great week! :)

  16. I love quiet weeks and I love that all 3 books you read were good ones. I rarely stick to my reading plans, either. Something more interesting always seems to pop up somewhere.

  17. It's been so hot—I bet the pool felt wonderful! I haven't been outside much all week, except to get the mail from the mailbox. The air is so thick and heavy (from the humidity) that it feels like breathing soup.

    Enjoy your new books!

  19. So glad you are having quiet time to read. I agree--hard to believe August is upon us. The youngest goes back to college in a few weeks. Hope you enjoy your books.

  20. Yes August is upon us, coming so fast. Three books is great. Same quiet world here! We have the Women's Football (Soccer) World Cup going on at present and it seems to have taken off. USA doing very well. I have watched a little but I find it a bit boring!

  23. I can't believe it is almost August either. Thank you for reminding me that I need to draw up my reading list for the month.

  24. I set up my calendar about a month ahead. I don't have a lot of flexibility since most of my calender winds up being review books. I do like to sneak in some that catch my eye though. Summer is going so fast! August already? Come see my week here. Happy reading!

  25. So many great books.. I like the sounds of Dark Side of Moo...

  26. It's the kind of weather where it's too hot to go anywhere but inside or the pool! I'm glad you've been enjoying your reads. It's so fun when you're on a streak of good reads. Have a great week!
