The Weekend Review - November 30th-December 2nd

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba the Caffeinated Book Reviewer ~ It's a chance to share news~ A post to recap the past week on your blog, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up on our blog for the week ahead.

If you'd like to participate with The Sunday Salon, it is now being hosted by Deb at Readerbuzz.

It’s Monday! What Are You Reading is a meme with a new host!  It's now being hosted by Kathryn at Book Date. This is where we share what we read this past week, what we hope to read this week…. and anything in between! This is a great way to plan out your reading week and see what others are currently reading as well… you never know where that next “must read” book will come from!

I'm also linking to Stacking the Shelves which is hosted by Reading Reality.

Hi Everyone!

I went unplugged for the last week.  My husband and I went on a cruise.  It was my birthday week so that's how we celebrated and had a great time.  We stopped at a few lovely ports - Dominican Republic, Puerto Rico, and Ocean Cay (Bahamas).  We had really nice weather all week, too.

For those celebrating Thanksgiving, I hope you had a wonderful holiday.  It was odd having Thanksgiving dinner on a cruise ship, but it was fun.  They had a full turkey meal.

It's amazing how much I read while I was unplugged...no computers, very little TV and not even any computer games.  I finished five books during the week and three more books since my last Sunday report for a total of eight books.  Of course, now I'm totally behind on writing reviews.

Now I have to figure out which reading challenges I will be signing up for 2025.  This will be in addition to the four I already host.

I only picked up two Kindle freebies, but I only got home this morning.  I'll be back on track next week.

I hope everyone had a great week and have a great upcoming week!

Upcoming books...I haven't had a chance to go through my list yet, but I will soon.

Here is this week's Kindle freebie haul.  They were freebies when I got them, I don't know if they still are. Always make sure to check they are still free before buying. The prices change quickly.

  2. Sounds like a great week! And ha, the upshot of reading a lot is always a lot of reviews to write... but that's a nice problem to have, I think. :D

  3. I haven't been to those ports yet. My son works on a ship and says that PR is in his top two ports. Happy belated birthday!

Cruises are great for reading! I believe I have Natural Selection sitting around on my Kindle somewhere.

  6. I should look into a cruise for the next holiday. It sounds like you had a marvelous time. It would be great just to be completely unplugged for a while.

I'm planning out my 2025 Reading Year right now, too.
