Teaser Tuesdays
Every Tuesday Diane at Bibliophile By the Sea hosts First Chapter First Paragraph Tuesday Intros, where we share the first paragraph or (a few) of a book we are reading or thinking about reading soon. Care to join us?
If you'd like to play along on Teaser Tuesdays, just click the button above.
Teaser Tuesdays is a weekly bookish meme, hosted by MizB of Should Be Reading. Anyone can play along! Just do the following:
* Grab your current read
* Open to a random page
* Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page
* BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)
* Share the title & author, too, so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers!
I'm going to start reading this soon...
First Chapter...
I awoke on a dirt floor. Head pounding. Disoriented. I was surrounded by darkness. I got to my knees and instinctively raised my hand to the back of my head. My skull was throbbing. What happened? I struggled to remember. I pushed myself up and stumbled back against a wall. It was cold and damp. I was in a fog and didn't know where I was.
Teaser...
There was a time, not long ago, that I thought I had experienced the worst life had to offer. I was laid off from work, two goons tried to kill me in a car chase, and my home was destroyed by Hurricane Sandy.
So, what do you think? Would you continue reading?

After some careful consideration, I've decided to become an award-free blog. Although I appreciate and am honored by each and every award I've received, your comments and friendship are enough award for me. Thank you all so much for your thoughtfulness.
Due to way too many spam comments, I disabled the Anonymous User comments. We'll see if this works, otherwise I'll have to go back to word verification.

The intro and teaser certainly do make one wonder. Mine: A Passage to India
ReplyDeleteShe sure was not having a good day.

I want to know what happened, but the writing seems a little choppy so far.
ReplyDeleteI am definitely caught up in the scenario and wondering what is happening. Thanks for sharing...and enjoy.
ReplyDeleteHere's mine: “THE WEDNESDAY GROUP”
I'm intrigued and want to know what happens next. I'm not sure about the cover, but the story sounds like it will be a good one.
ReplyDeleteLooking at the cover, I thought, this is not for me. When I read your teaser, I changed my mind. I live on the Gulf Coast, so any mention of it and I want to see what the author has to say. :-)
ReplyDeletesherry @ fundinmental My TT ~ The Lie by Ashley Fontainne
I hope the memory returns! Enjoy.
ReplyDeleteI like the intro (not the cover) though, but would read more. Hope you love it.
ReplyDeleteThe teaser is sad and makes me wonder why goons were trying to kill he/she.. (i'm guessing it's a she from the cover).
ReplyDeleteMy TT is from The Walls Around Us:
