First Chapter...

I awoke on a dirt floor. Head pounding. Disoriented. I was surrounded by darkness. I got to my knees and instinctively raised my hand to the back of my head. My skull was throbbing. What happened? I struggled to remember. I pushed myself up and stumbled back against a wall. It was cold and damp. I was in a fog and didn't know where I was.


Teaser...

There was a time, not long ago, that I thought I had experienced the worst life had to offer. I was laid off from work, two goons tried to kill me in a car chase, and my home was destroyed by Hurricane Sandy.

    I'm intrigued and want to know what happens next. I'm not sure about the cover, but the story sounds like it will be a good one.

    Looking at the cover, I thought, this is not for me. When I read your teaser, I changed my mind. I live on the Gulf Coast, so any mention of it and I want to see what the author has to say. :-)

    The teaser is sad and makes me wonder why goons were trying to kill he/she.. (i'm guessing it's a she from the cover).
