Every Tuesday Vicki at I'd Rather Be At the Beach hosts First Chapter First Paragraph Tuesday Intros, where we share the first paragraph or (a few) of a book we are reading or thinking about reading soon. Care to join us?
Teaser Tuesdays is a weekly bookish meme, now being hosted by Ambrosia at The Purple Booker. Anyone can play along! Just do the following:
* Grab your current read
* Open to a random page
* Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page
* BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)
* Share the title & author, too, so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers!
I'll be reading this one soon...
First Chapter...
Drip, drip, drip.
There is something about coffee that brings people together. And they don't even have to like coffee. Is it the smell? Is it The comforting sound of the drip? I don't know. All I did know was that my new coffee shop in the touristy lake town of Honey Springs, Kentucky, The Bean Hive, was opened for business.
Teaser...
"I'm telling you something is wrong," Bunny Bowowski waddled into The Bean Hive with her brown pocketbook hung in the croak of her arm. "She didn't answer her phone all night last night."
What do you think? Would you keep reading?
This sounds awfully fun; I hope you are enjoying it.

Gotta love coffee! I have this one waiting for me to read. I love her books.
ReplyDeleteMy TT from Murder With Ganache
I really like the cover of that book. I'm such a shallow book buyer that sometimes I buy the book just based on a pretty cover!
ReplyDeleteI'd give this one a go--I like the description of the coffee shop setting.
ReplyDeleteI would keep reading. I've been reading more cozies lately. I know I'm in the minority, but the smell of coffee makes me feel sick. This week I'm featuring a book that has been sitting on TBR mountain way too long - Martians Abroad by Carrie Vaughn. Happy reading!
ReplyDeleteI love cozies set in coffee shops (and book shops), and I, too, love being in one. The scent, but also the people gathered around. Love the hint of mystery ahead, too.
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing, and here's mine: “GENUINE FRAUD”
That first paragraph is so true. I'm not a coffee drinker, but I love the snell if it and the sounds of a good coffee shop. Hope the rest of the book is a winner.
ReplyDeleteI really love Tonya Kappes's books and this one sounds great! I love that beginning!
ReplyDeleteOK. I want to know who didn't answer her phone, and more importantly, why not. Sounds like a good whodunnit. Here's my link: https://wp.me/p4DMf0-1F1
