My Review
After a messy divorce, Sally Muccio heads to her hometown to start a new life. She opens a cookie shop complete with fortune cookies with ominous sayings. Of course, heading home means going back to her wacky Italian family and friends - both close and not so close.
One of those “not so close” friends slept with her now ex-husband. After getting into a public fight, the woman dies on Sally’s porch while eating one of her cookies. The police immediately suspect Sally of murder. It’s up to her, and her best friend/partner, to investigate for themselves. It’s the only way to save their shop.
This is a fast-pace cozy mystery with fun characters. I liked Sally and her family immediately. They had me laughing throughout the book. It’s a combo of mystery and romance. I figured out who did it right along with Sally and didn’t find out until the end.
So far, I read the prequel novella and now the first book. I’m hooked. I’m looking forward to reading the next book in the series.

Ah, messy relationships, we all have them. This sounds like she has a doozy of a few of them.
