Review: Here’s the Deal: Don’t Touch Me by Howie Mandel

Genre:
Non-Fiction, Memoir

Format:
Audio

Publisher:
Random House Audio

Release Date:
November 2009

Howie Mandel writes about his phobias, illnesses and his struggle with obsessive-compulsive disorder. He writes an honest, no-holds barred story. He gets it all out there.

I loved Howie Mandel going back to his St. Elsewhere days and I even loved him on Deal or No Deal. After Regis’ Who Wants to Be A Millionaire, Howie helped to revitalize game shows on TV. His humor comes through everything he does which is why I decided to listen to the audio of this instead of reading it. Nothing is better than listening to Howie Mandel’s story than listening to it in his own words.

It’s hard to say you enjoyed something so much, when clearly he was writing about both the good and bad times in his life. He tells it with such finesse, though, that you can’t help but enjoy this book.

One thing that shines is his love for his family. He is truly a warm, loving husband and father. It’s rare to see that among celebrities these days. He seems to be a down-to-earth type of guy. I’m hoping he does another book as I already miss hearing his voice on my car’s cd player.

FTC Disclosure: I took this audio out from the library for my own enjoyment. This did not influence my thoughts and opinions in any way. All opinions expressed are my own.
