Synopsis from Goodreads...

A tale of kidnapping, murder, and neighbors you’d like to kidnap and murder…

Bonnie Fattori is a sexy, sassy, Italian Princess living in New Jersey. She’s loving life with a rich husband, beachfront living, and a promotion at work—until a new neighbor, Lyla Spratt, is determined to destroy her happiness.

After several run-ins with the unstable woman next door, Bonnie starts to suspect a connection between her new neighbor and the untimely death of a local resident, Polly Pitcher. She recruits her good friend Chelsey to help figure out if her suspicions are correct.

As the neighbors go head-to-head in a hilarious battle, Lyla is pushed to the brink of insanity. The more unhinged Lyla becomes, the more Bonnie’s life and the safety of her family are at risk. Can Bonnie find out what really happened to Polly Pitcher before it’s too late?

A perfect read for those who like laugh-out-loud humor in their mysteries!

My Review

Bonnie Fattori is loving life. She has two beautiful daughters, a rich neurosurgeon husband, a beachfront home and a promotion at work. She is about to be sworn in as Coral Beach, New Jersey’s new municipal clerk but on her way to the swearing in ceremony, she has a run in with her crazy new neighbors, the Spratts. Bonnie refers to the wife as Lemon Face since she always looks like she’s sucking on a lemon.

Lyla Spratt begins to get nuttier with each day. She has convinced herself, and everyone around her, that Bonnie is having an affair with her senator husband, Cason. Bonnie is definitely the flirtatious type, but having an affair with Cason is the furthest thing from her mind. When a young woman she used to know is found dead, Bonnie is determined to find out who the killer is. She’s surprised to find her investigation leads right to Lyla’s doorstep.

As she snoops into the Spratts’ lives more and more, Bonnie’s own life is on the line. The mystery takes a turn she never saw coming.

In the third book in the Jersey Shore mysteries, we switch protagonists. In the first two books, our amateur sleuth was Bonnie’s friend Chelsey. This time it’s all about Bonnie and told in the first person from her point of view. For this reason, it’s a standalone book and you definitely don’t need to have read the first two to enjoy this one.

Bonnie is a fun, spunky character. She’s one of those “larger than life” characters who keep you laughing and smiling, but at the same time you feel bad for all the things she’s going through. The author has a way of creating crazy characters (Lemon Face/Lyla) and a few evil ones.

The plot takes many different twists and turns along the way. Just when you think it’s all wrapped up, we get tossed another obstacle that tells us it’s not quite over yet. This is a story with all the elements needed to keep readers intrigued to the end – mystery, romance, adventure, betrayal, and a couple of really crazy characters.

I hope we get another story featuring Bonnie and her family soon. She leaves you laughing.
