The Weekend Review - July 16th-18th

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba the Caffeinated Book Reviewer ~ It's a chance to share news~ A post to recap the past week on your blog, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up on our blog for the week ahead.

If you'd like to participate with The Sunday Salon, it is now being hosted by Deb at Readerbuzz.

It’s Monday! What Are You Reading is a meme with a new host!  It's now being hosted by Kathryn at Book Date. This is where we share what we read this past week, what we hope to read this week…. and anything in between! This is a great way to plan out your reading week and see what others are currently reading as well… you never know where that next “must read” book will come from!

I'm also linking to  Stacking The Shelves which is hosted by Reading Reality.

Hi Everyone!

Another hot and humid week in Florida.  Our humidity actually made it feel like triple digits out there.  Naturally, I've been in here 😀

I only finished one book this week, but I did complete one of my reading challenges.  I finished the Cloak & Dagger Reading challenge.  It always feels good to cross one off the list.

As for what I've been watching, I finished Star Trek: Strange New Worlds.  I hope that will come back soon.  IMO, it's the best of the Star Trek series since the original.  I've also been watching a mini series that's a spin off of one of my soaps, Days of Our Lives.  The spin off is Beyond Salem and I loved it.  It was only a 5 day series, but I enjoyed it more than the regular show.  Hopefully they will do another.

Not much else going on here.  Just a regular week 😁  I hope you all have a great upcoming week!

  1. I want to watch Strange New Worlds. I might have to get PAramount +... I love the look of that Veronica Bond book too.

Ugh the heat. That's too hot! It's been warmer here too but not quite that bad. The humidity's the worst...

Anyway hope you have a nice week :)

  2. Wowzers - you have a lot of bookish stuff going on. That's a lot of memes and blog tours to join!! You must be a better time manager than me, but just this weekend stuff keeps me busy visiting and reading and adding to my TBR (a highly likely probability with all the books people are reading/sharing!).
    Happy Reading this week.

  8. My husband enjoyed Strange New Worlds too, although it hasn't finished in the UK (I dont think!) We got it a little later because of the delay in launching paramount plus here. I must admit I'm not much of a trekkie... But I do like the chap playing Pike!

Hope you have a good week!

  10. The Littlest Library has such a cute cover. I am a sucker for cover art. It's very hot in my part of Florida as well. Ugh!

  11. Whew, it's hot and humid enough here in Virginia. I can imagine how much worse it is in Florida!

The Littlest Library was so charming; I hope you're enjoying it. And I really liked Strange New Worlds. Fun to see that, having grown up with the original series. We watched the TOS "Balance of Terror" episode right after watching episode 10 of SNW, and the writers, actors, and director of the latter did a great job of paralleling the original episode. (The actor playing Mark Lenard's role didn't live up to Lenard's stellar performance, though.)

  12. It actually has been triple digits where I am, but our humidity is very low. I'm sorry it's so hot and humid where you're at.

It is always so much fun to cross off a challenge on your list. I reached my main Goodreads goals at the beginning of the month and I was really excited to cross that one off too. And, I finished the Narniathon earlier this month so that way fun to be done with that. :D

I also love Strange New Worlds. It's my favorite since Next Generation. I do love Voyager, Enterprise, Discovery, and Picard too, though. I'm not a huge fan of the original series. I like some of the movies (Khan, Search for Spock, Voyage Home, and Undiscovered Country). I also love the new movies with Chris Pine and Zachary Quinto. I can't wait for the fourth one.

Anyway, I hope you have a great week! :D
