Synopsis from Goodreads:

Burned out and longing for adventure, when ER nurse Delilah Miller is faced with leaving the bustling streets of New York to care for her stubborn and overbearing mother, she almost overlooks their massive differences. And after her mother makes a surprising offer to move into a run-down bed & breakfast in Atlanta City, Delilah relishes the idea of reconnecting with her childhood city.

But the dilapidated B&B is in desperate need of repairs. With her mother insisting on hiring the scruffy – yet strangely charming – local handyman Trevor, Delilah finds herself caught up in a wild family feud when her grandmother and estranged daughter both show up on her doorstep.

With four generations of Miller women stuck under one roof, tensions run wild and long-buried arguments unfold that will culminate in life-changing revelations, plenty of tears, and a valuable lesson on the importance of family.

Can Delilah make peace with her warring family and reconnect with her loved ones? And will the romantic undercurrent between her and handyman Trevor grow into the passion she’s always been searching for?

Artfully written as a delightful feel-good read that will capture your imagination, the Atlantic City Series is an unforgettable women’s fiction series with a dash of mystery and plenty of heartwarming clean romance. Scroll up and grab your copy now…

My Review

Delilah Miller is a New York City ER nurse and on her way to being totally burned out.  When she gets a call from her domineering mother, she contemplates her mother’s sudden offer.  Her mother wants to open a bed & breakfast in Atlantic City.  The inn needs quite a bit of work, but her mother is sure they can make a success of it.  Delilah isn’t as sure, but she doesn’t want to let her mother do this on her own.

Delilah’s daughter and grandmother join them in Atlantic City.  Delilah quickly learns that four generations of Miller women can be quite stressful.  To add to the mix, Delilah’s mother hires contractor Trevor Ellis, who just happens to be a former boyfriend of Delilah’s.  Can they rekindle the romance from their past?

This is the first book in the series and it’s off to a wonderful start.  The characters are well-developed and feel as if they can be your next door neighbor.  The women have realistic problems to deal with, not to mention banging heads with each other.

It’s a short story, but filled with much emotion, turmoil and drama.  It’s a poignant, touching story that already has me addicted.  I’m looking forward to reading the next entry into this series.
