First Chapter, First Paragraph, Tuesday Intros - April 25th

It's Tuesday!  It's time to share your excerpts and teasers from books we are currently reading, have read or are planning to read.  So, feel free to join us by sharing the first paragraph or (a few) of a book you are reading or thinking about reading soon.  This meme is guaranteed to increase your TBR :)

Please link your blog post using Mr. Linky below. Make sure the link you enter is the direct link to your Tuesday post, not the main link to your blog. Thank you!

Teaser Tuesdays is a weekly bookish meme, now being hosted by Ambrosia at The Purple Booker. Anyone can play along! Just do the following:

* Grab your current read

* Open to a random page

* Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page

* BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)

* Share the title & author, too, so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers!

I'm hoping to read this one soon.  I borrowed it through Kindle Unlimited.

First Chapter

Billie Halifax pulled her small white hatchback over to the side of the road just before the Bridge to Nowhere began.

Teaser...

For eight straight seconds, Billie successfully drove her car across the bridge.

Synopsis from Goodreads:

When an unexpected inheritance turns deadly…

Billie Halifax is not only new to Sea Glass Island, Florida, but also to the food truck business. After her late grandmother left her a non-functional fleet, Billie packed up and headed out on a new adventure, ready for anything. Or so she thought…

Her first task is to find a manager for the initial truck, so she narrows it down to three potential candidates from a local culinary school. They’ll show off their skills and she’ll pick the best of the best for her first truck, Taco the Town.

Billie’s off to a bit of a rocky start, having to deal with a cranky business partner she didn’t even know she had. Things go from bad to worse when one of the contestants competing for the manager position is found dead and the other two are at the top of the suspect list.

With her entire future at stake, it’s up to Billie to solve the crime before her taco truck’s next stop is failure.

Hostile Taco-ver is packed with mystery, food, and fun. This fast-paced culinary cozy will leave you turning the pages and begging for more.

What do you think? Would you keep reading?

  1. This is making me crave tacos for sure. There's a taco eatery across the street from where I live. I might have to try it while I read this book! :)
