The Weekend Review - April 29th-May 1st

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba the Caffeinated Book Reviewer ~ It's a chance to share news~ A post to recap the past week on your blog, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up on our blog for the week ahead.

If you'd like to participate with The Sunday Salon, it is now being hosted by Deb at Readerbuzz.

It’s Monday! What Are You Reading is a meme with a new host!  It's now being hosted by Kathryn at Book Date. This is where we share what we read this past week, what we hope to read this week…. and anything in between! This is a great way to plan out your reading week and see what others are currently reading as well… you never know where that next “must read” book will come from!

I'm also linking to  Stacking The Shelves which is hosted by Reading Reality.

Hi Everyone!

I had an interesting week.  For a few days we went to Disney World and had a great time.  We've been there a few times already so this time we didn't go to the Magic Kingdom.  We went to Epcot (my favorite of the parks) and Animal Kingdom.  The weather was a bit dicey but not terrible.  The first day we got caught in a torrential downpour but after that the rain seemed to come in the later hours.

I didn't have a chance to read much.  I did finish one book, though.  It was a good one.  I didn't do much TV or movie watching this week either.  Just enjoying the mini-vacation.

So, how have you all been?  Anything new going on?  I hope you all had a great week and have a great upcoming week!

Nothing scheduled!

Posts last week:

I'm currently reading...

I finished reading ...

I'm still listening to...

These are on my May reading list.  A few of them are carried over from April.  It still looks manageable, but you never know when I might see something else I want to add on to the list.

Here are this week's Kindle freebie haul. They were freebies when I got them, I don't know if they still are. Always make sure to check they are still free before buying. The prices change quickly.

  2. I had a quiet week also - those are kind of nice now and then. I did finish a couple books. We're heading out tomorrow for a quick couple day get away and I'm looking forward to the break from work and all the "normal" stuff we do. Have a terrific week.

  4. I am one of the few people in the world, I think, who has never been to Disney parks. I really must go one of these days. I've heard great things, especially about Epcot.

Glad you got to get away for a bit!

  5. Epcot is my favorite as well! It has been far too long since I have been there. :(

  6. Glad you had such a great week! I haven't been to Disney in 15+ years, but we did go a few times before that. I'm not a huge fan of theme parks, but the kids loved it.

  7. Out of Circulation looks good. I haven't been to Disney since 1990. I don't like to travel that far now.

  10. Glad you had a great time! I love all of the Disney World parks but my favorite is Animal Kingdom. When my husband was alive we had yearly tickets to all the central Florida theme parks.. We spent a lot of time at them and saw a lot of bands perform. I still love going to them but don't go as often anymore.

  13. I'm glad you got to go to DisneyWorld!

I keep meaning to give the Miranda James mysteries a try, but I never seem to get around to them. I read (well, re-read; I read it first in March) and reviewed Identity this week. It was good, and I'll probably read it again in a few years.

  14. Nice you went again to Disney, I went once while in LA but now so long ago almost forgotten it except almost lost my glasses on a ride because didn't see notice to take them off!

  16. I want to get back to Disneyworld. My family went there on a family vacation when I was in my early 20s. I enjoyed Identity and Hard Dough Homicide and hope you do too. Come see my week here. Happy reading!

  18. Jealous. I haven't been to Disney is a while, even though I'm about an hour from Disneyland. Only been to Disney World once because it's on the other side of the country from me.

  19. I'm glad you had fun at Disney! I can't wait for my kid to be old enough for that.
